So, with the impending demise of Coventry City (Holdings) the 'club' that is Coventry City dies a death...

Coventry City is dead, long live Otium Entertainment Ltd (trading as Coventry City Football Club)!

What this shows, though, is that Otium have stolen a march, they themselves have become a phoenix club.

It's something to bear in mind if Otium go belly up, just what is Coventry City? And what, arguably, it shows, is it's not the company in the slightest, it's the essence behind it. Now the onus is on Otium to prove itself worthy of Coventry City Football Club in time. If it doesn't and vanishes, the very existence of Otium right here, right now shows that Coventry City will not die; whenever and however SISU move on, the club will stay alive. Strange as it may seem, the passing of Coventry City (Holdings) with barely a word as to its meaning and significance as the club probably gives us more hope for a future post SISU than anything before. It shows the hold on the club is not in the physical entity itself. It may simpplify the corporate structure as of now, but long term it probably weakens their position as they set the precedent for a post SISU future themselves.

But there can be only one.

To me a football club is the fans. Players and managers come and go. Owners change. The vast majority of us keep to the same club whatever. What is a football club without fans?

Well, the FL have essentially seen it that way since the transfer of the GS!

And very Astute, imo the fans are the club. The club is whatever we say it is, and whatever we decide to call it!

We have fans! A football club has fans because they can relate and associate with it. It needs a community base, it needs a historic fabric within that base. The longer the history the more ingrained the fabric.

A football club should not be a commercial unit or commercial product that can be shoved around willy nilly. If you don't understand that don't invest in football!

Tonight we have beaten AFC Wimbledon. Honourable opponents who were robbed of their history, but rose from their ashes. Well done the supporters of AFC Wimbledon and all involved. You played football tonight.

Long live football. Long live all clubs within their communities!

There is something in a name though. IF ever they decided to call the club Otium FC or whatever instead - I would walk away.

Bit like me being named Barry...nicknamed Bazza, which revel in. If ever people called me "Bazza The Sex God" I'd be ecstatic...but "Bazza the winkle" & I would be distraught (the truth often hurts lol)!

This will be the same Otium that is owned by ARVO, so no Otium do not own CCFC
