What will we get from the Olympics? (6 Viewers)

Just thinking. What will we be left with after the Olympics? For example, will the Olympic rings remain on the Ricoh island? And has the Ricoh Arena had any work done to it which shall remain?

I remember travelling to Barcelona in 2005 and as we went over the Pyrenees mountains I saw a really nice Olympic logo in the mountains pointing towards Barcelona which had been there from 1992. It would be a nice touch if the Olympics could leave our club and city with a little physical legacy for the future.

If they leave the Olympic rings on the Ricoh island Sisu will sell them.

Oh the rings have to stay. Everything else is just covers over signs and sponsors so will come down I'd say.

There's also the new floodlights in the corners of the stand, which to be honest make the pitch look excellent.

Have they put any floodlights up to make our players look excellent?

The Rings are staying, I hope they keep the welcome to Coventry sign on the bridge!

I noticed last night that the Goal area was churning up a bit last night ,so hope the legacy is'nt a dodgy pitch (minor nitpick) ,what a great Crowd last night, generated a great atmosphere.

change the colours though. dont know if its just me but there seemed to be too much claret and blue going on. wingy youre right excellent atmosphere and nice to see it near capacity. lets hope we manage to do something this season to match it

Aside from the result the atmosphere was amazing. It was great to see all the families going together and everybody making such an effort to wear something that related to GB. Normoal service resumes soon though...

The whole Olympic experience can only have been a good thing for Coventry and Coventry City. The rings on the Island actually look superb. The traffic improvements are just that. The money ACL would have received from the matches would have helped their profitability and maybe this could help City in negotiations over the rent. The spin off business for the pubs and shops in CV6 would have been good too, not to mention thousands of footfall next to the CCFC clubshop. I imagine it would have also brought many oversees students etc to the stadium who perhaps otherwise wouldn't go and may return.
All very positive !!!
