What will make Lampard leave? (25 Viewers)

Another crack at the Chelsea job would be the obvious one. Beyond that, yeah, I think basically any established PL club would seek him out once we're promoted.

I think Frank Lampard would be crazy to go back to Chelsea again.

Obviously if England came calling then that's a no-brainier.

England job. I can seriously see him being the next England manager.

If he were to leave we are in a stronger position to get a better quality new guy in than we were a year ago.

He would be mad to go back to Chelsea with their loony owners who just want a coach so they can pick the team and play football manager.

We're not getting promoted to the Prem and immediately losing our manager to fucking Bournemouth.
I suppose it's marginally better than losing a manager to a TV Sports career. 🤔

Frank was burned at Chelsea twice, and kept Everton up against the odds, and then got the boot before Xmas the next season. If he took a job at Palace, Brentford, Bournmouth etc, yes he will have more budget but those teams shall want immediate returns. If it doesn't happen quickly he could be gone in 3-4 months. Then he's back to the Championship. I think Frank will quite fancy bringing his fresh, punky Coventry team to some of those Premier League teams next season. If he keeps us up, and does well over 1-2 seasons in the top flight, he'll get some much bigger offers, like Chelsea (again) etc.

Everyone's looking at it from a football angle but no one knows the affect being separated from his family is having.

I've no idea what his situation is but there's more to these things than just football.

I think that’s a great point. A southern team would be more appealing, but I don’t think Bournemouth are it.

He has admitted enjoying the job here at Cov and comes across as fairly genuine. He’s had a few Prem jobs and at a time when not many clubs gave him a chance, we afforded him the opportunity and the time to build something special. I think he’s older, wiser and more mature now and hopefully feels a sense of loyalty to our club. Not saying he will never leave us, but I don’t get the sense of him pulling a Rob Edwards stunt (hope I’m right).

Fans have a part to play. If we remain realistic and don’t start shouting for his head if we lose away to Man City et al tgat would help.

I don't think he's short of cash so doubt that's as much of a factor.

I could see him being tempted at another shot at the Chelsea job but there isn't any rush, in fact he probably knows he isn't ready. Same goes for England.

I guess the biggest imminent risk is if he thinks we don't have the resources to have a proper go next season. Normally I'd say Bournemouth would be a great fit but he's still got a lot of doubters in the media so I think he'll stick and build here where he's appreciated

Exactly! 100% correct.
Two young boys with Christine and two girls from his first marriage living in London.
He will want to be nearer to home.
If a Spurs or Fulham or Crystal Palace came calling would be very tempting.

Good point to be fair! I’m pretty sure he lives a reasonably commutable distance to Coventry. Does he own/rent property in the West Midlands?

It’s worth noting that Colnbrook is just as close to Coventry as it is to Bournemouth which where his family is based.

Chelsea is truly local and bigger job but he really risks damaging his credibility if he drops whatever club he’s at for Chelsea every single time. A 3rd spell in a career less than 10 years is just ridiculous. That stand point is purely from a professional standpoint point.

We're not in any danger of losing him any time soon I don't think.

His reputation at PL level still isn't cemented and a lot of people think his level is Championship. He needs a succesful season (at least) at that level to change perceptions.

If he keeps us up then there will be plenty of offers for him.

I also think he is a good shout to manage England one day.
