Now I remember that Handball completly differently !
I'd forgotten it; I remembered we went down to 9, but couldn't remember who was sent off or why.

I can remember their keeper's own goal, and the expression on his face afterwards, clear as day, though.

Although I had been going semi regularly since 72 that was the first game I actually remember attending. We were also sat there - from my memory - and never sat there again.

Same. The next season we were in the West Stand, then in subsequent years; I stood on the East Terrace (nr the scoreboard) and then latterly in the West Terrace.

Had a m8 who sometimes had a spare ticket in the Directors Box…

I think my first few games watching city at HR were all draws and the first win i saw was against Middlesbrough in late december 1996 , we won 3-0 and i remember it because it was very cold and my old man slipped forward a couple rows when we scored ..

Great team Middlesbrough had back then, I always pretended to be Ravaneli in the back Garden... untill the neighbours complained about me flashing my belly all the time

When i went with my dad it was in the Sky Blue Stand and then when going with mates we flitted between the West End and Kop.

I had my photo taken at a game (not sure which one), and it was used in the 1964 edition of the Children's Encyclopedia Brittanica, under the "A" section for "Association Football". I only found out when we were in the school library and one of my classmates yelled, "It's Baz! Look!" . And there I was, full page, full face close-up, black & white glossy photo, wearing a woolly balaclava and looking totally bored! I've since tried to find a copy but apart from buying all volumes at a silly cost, I've not had any luck!

Feb 1975. My uncle took me for my 4th birthday. Remember the opposition wore navy blue and having checked, we played Ipswich on 22nd so I think that itt must have been then.

It's good to know that we have famous people amongst our supporters.

I hope you got a good deal for your image rights 😊

Hi Stretto I take it you were born in Feb 1955 as was I
Just a pair of kids hahahha, I was born June 54 and as best I can remember my first game was a Boxing Day game in about 1960 with my Dad and Brother -in-law, who used to take us. My first game on my own/pals was in 1966 aged 12.

1973 season for me, I was 5, don't remember it proper until probably 78ish hence my heroes being Wallce, Ferguson, Hunt, Ferguson..funnily enough, I went to Ernesford Grange, my best mate at the time Tony Dobson played for Cov and made a decent career, we knocked around as kids and teenagers.

Just had a quick google on that set of encyclopedia and they're going for a couple of hundred quid! Don't think I'll bother just for one volume needed for one photo! 😉

I can't remember the exact first game but I do remember having a sky blue rattle with "Hudson" painted on it so best guess is 1963 when I was 9 years old.

Now in my mid 50s, i vividly remember as a kid, walking up those long steps to the Spion Kop end, and thinking how green the grass was, and how bright the floodlights were....innocent times.
