Can see it happening. Not to the extent of when this all started but definitely a 3 or 4-week suspension

Think we'd see behind closed doors games before they start looking at postponing fixtures.

Talk of reduced attendances or behind closed doors as a a possibility today on Talksport. With games being called off now due to players and staff going down with covid and this ten day isolation I wouldn’t rule either out.

Postponing the season will cause all sorts of problems. Next season is due to start end of July because of the winter World Cup.

Think they’ll do everything they can to keep going whether that’s reduced attendances, behind closed doors e.t.c

Think the covid pass and masks will kill some of the walk ups as it is so clubs are going to be losing money again.

If it gets that bad then more restrictions will be in place so in theory there should be less risk of players catching it. Behind closed doors again far more likely than the season being postponed or ended early.

Germany is near to lockdown but their games are continuing. Boris won't completely shut things down. they may introduce vaccine passports, fewer fans with social distancing but never a lockdown

Season wont be postponed, several scenarios and stricter measures will be in place before that happens.

What this is already doing is putting a massive dent in clubs finances, reduced gates and games postponed including televised games....so the financial forecasting must be a nightmare. More clubs will be under huge financial strain.

I hope football can ride this out but we are having games called off now due to covid, I think we will bat on through the xmas period but beyond that who knows.

I would suggest we should get back in the top 6 pretty quickly so we get a play off place if the season is curtailed!!!

The season may not be postponed / cancelled / ended early, but I think we are going to be seeing games postponed all over the place over the next few weeks.

Also time of the year where fixtures are crammed in, due to isolation rules, wont be 1 game affected. Likely have to miss 2 possibly 3.

Zero. It’d just go back to behind closed doors.

Latest data today from SA is that Omnicon is milder and is causing less hospitalisations.

So, who knows.

Issue will be the isolation rules I think.

A player can test positive and be fine but not be able to play / train etc. In that aspect, the mildness doesn't make much difference.

Is there any data on transmission at grounds?
I know loads of people who've had covid but I only know of one who think they got it at a game.

Sure I read something this week about the Premier league voting in January on a PPG if they get to at least 75% of games played and there's a curtailment.

Yeah, I'm thinking more along the lines of the stadiums and fans.

Will be interesting to see what clubs try to put in place. Surely things like team meetings can be done in alternative ways that 25 people in a small room?

Depends what the new variant does to hospitalisations.... hopefully its as mild as reported and this blows over.

Vast majority will be triple jabbed in a few weeks too.

I don’t know if Omicron is in Italy - but I went to 3 games last week in 3 different cities with no social distancing. That’s not including all the Cov games we’ve been to so far with neither vaccine passports and social distancing.

I tested negative to return back to the UK. Frankly, I’m sceptical about the need to lockdown. If hospitalisations and deaths (particularly among the vaccinated) increase drastically and is at crisis levels. There would then be a case for further restrictions.

We’ve got most people double jabbed and most people will be offered booster jabs. No need to worry about our lives.

To bring it back on the topic of the thread, the season won’t be curtailed.

You'll need proof of vaccine and identification showing a Leamington address

I used to live in Leamington, but moved away. I know this is hard to believe.
Based on my past residency record, will I have partial exemption?

Revisit Leamington quite regularly and can’t believe the number of houses being built on the sainsburys side of the town.

Games being called off left right and centre now.

Millwall and Reading both got covid cases now. Both weekend games postponed.

Burnley vs Watford was apparently cancelled 3 hours before K/O.

This is just the start.

I reckon we will be lucky to get through this Christmas schedule unscathed.

Clubs need to tighten up their bubbles again. Remember the time teams turned up in two buses etc. Shitty but clearly they need to adapt back because their players are getting caught out
