Billy Frith had just become manager for his second spell.We had a bad season formed part of the then new 4th division.No 3rd south and 3rd north any more.Only spent 1 season in it before returning to the 3rd division.He remained in charge till that fateful day in November 61 when JH took over and as they say the rest is history.

First Game was vs Newcastle at HR, 1996/97, won 2-1 with Huckerby scoring. My grandad took me to the game and I was hooked, now I'm doing the same with my lad.

That's really weird, that was my first match as well.

Early 80s up to 89 and then moved away and sort of only had an interest if we were on TV etc so missed all the bloody Prem years
Moved back in 2002 just in time for us to be shit. Had a season ticket since 2004 now so I think I deserve a bit of success.

I was 1957, five years old, Dad took me to my first game away to Bolton, sitting in one of the main stands, we won, I think it was four or five can't quite remember, but what i do remember though is that when we scored the first goal, I nearly shit myself when everyone stood up cheering.

Born early 70’s so went naturally started in the 70’s and saw some fantastic players at that time.
First season ticket when I was 10, the year we turned all seater, and Dave Sexton was the manager.
Got to see Leeds fans at their finest that season, when we beat them 4-0 and they decided they preferred their seats launched at the pitch and our fans.

I was late 1990s myself, but it struck me that there's a fairly big bias towards the earlier decades on here (which there's absolutely nothing wrong with). However, it got me thinking - would it be worth promoting SBT in some way to the younger and sensible fans of the club?
This forum is great overall, and we all know it. Where else can you:

• Get your daily dose of Saddle's insider knowledge
• Marvel at Grendel glass half empty analysis and Pete's wholesome work linking the club and fans
• Nearly wet yourself laughing at Hill's legendary GIF game
• Enjoy the occasional meltdown thread that makes EastEnders look tame

I mean, we spend a lot of time on here so I would be more than happy to support promoting it if people wanted to.

1984 - I can remember writing a letter to Bobby Gould. He was sacked a few days later.

I wrote to Jimmy Hill in 1964, asking if I could be a ball boy. I had a nice reply, signed by him, thanking me for my interest and saying that I would be put on the waiting list and he would contact me when I reached the top of it.

It must have been a long list because that was 61 years ago and I’m still waiting.
