Not usually my thing but I'm fucking loving beyonces new tune "break my soul".
Think it's the lazy handbag house beat.... I challenge anyone to listen to it and NOT be a nodding dog by the end of it....

Following on from the guilty pleasure post from earlier. Tyler blasting one out to maximum effect. This is so, so good and different from the Air Supply version.

The companion song to Total Eclipse from a long-lost film.

Not as good as the original but not the disaster I thought it was going to be when I clicked on it

Still love that. It's buried in my Amazon Music 'Misc' playlist of 300+ tunes, so doesn't come up often enough...

Apologies. Trawling back, as I hadn't looked in for a while.
Jeez, I bought the Mike and the Mechanics album on its release a couple of years after my own father died, and I just can't listen to it. Too many parallels.
Most people think Mike wrote it about his relationship with his dad, but actually BA penned it, and it was about his.
Poignant. Too bloody poignant.

God I loved that album........loved a good bit of shoegazing always a nice juxtaposition to all the raves at the time.

4AD had some great bands and album covers in that era.

Remember seeing them up the uni supported by gay dad.
Was a Sunday, we'd beat Wednesday 3-0 that afternoon.
Love a match/gig combo day!

Whenever I hear this song I always have to remind myself that it isn’t Tears for Fears. Sounds a lot like their later stuff, they must have been an influence. The vocals of Roland Orzabal especially.
