What do you think would Westbrooke have helped the team more than we thought?

He wishes he stayed but if he did would he actually be that missing link we needed for the box to work this season?

I've voted no, because I believe he is a loss to us. We saw quite often last season him and Shippers were inter changeable, this is where I think he is missed. It was an extra option for us. If one wasnt playing well, the other came on. This clearly helped each to push on.

He was behind Allen and Shipley when he was here, And they are no longer automatic starters, Especially Allen who looks like a fish out of water at this level.

Hamer and Sheaf are obvious improvements and a team has to improve year on year if it wants to progress.

I really liked Westbrooke and thought he definitely had some class about him, but as others have said, he looked lightweight in league one and we've found out the hard way the Championship is a massive step up in terms of quality and physicality so think he'd have struggled to impose himself this season.

Kelly can't even get in our team, no way Westbrooke would be anywhere near it - Robins knew this hence moving him on.

Not at all. Nice guy but we don't miss him. Look at the key run-in last season. He played only 350 minutes from Wycombe to Ipswich a total of 1,170 available. Walsh, Kelly played every single minute.

In the key run in last season Rotherham, Sunderland and Ipswich that was the crunch week, the most important week of the season, he was an unused sub in 2 games and played 5 mins against Ipswich. When it mattered he didn't play. I don't think we miss him at all. Not in the slightest. Hamer and Sheaf (especially last 3 games) have showed quality they have and offer more than Westbrooke. Like others have said not even Kelly can't get in the team at the moment.

Robins knows what he is doing.

Reading it though, it looks as if we actually made him an offer and his agent told him to wait before accepting it.

I guess as the season went on we looked like we were going to get promoted so we weren't chasing him to sign it.

Seems like another agent interfering.

That's how I interpreted it also when he was talking about it. Then he put that infuriated GIF and tweet just at the time Shipley signed his new deal. Might have been linked to that and frustration that his contract just wasn't there any more.

He was offered a new contract but stalled on signing it (talk of some personal issues surrounding his partner & child I believe) then when he decided he was ready the club had already moved on with the signing of O'Hare etc. so decided he was no longer needed.

Tough for the lad of course but ultimately right decision for everyone.
