Roaster deserves it for supporting two clubs
Oh he's very much a roaster. To his credit he does quite actively support both. He was there to watch Celtic get pumped by Stuttgart midweek and was at the Hawthorns today. Albeit he walked out at halftime 🤣

Well the top 3 are all but the most dangerous team in the league

5 of those 8 are in the top 8

Sheffield united are in good form and southanpton have been rising .

It shows that all these teams have the capability to create more good chances

Preston in the bottom 4 explains their drop off and hull in the bottom 7 or 8 massively outperforming but could be their achilles heel come may .

XG isnt perfect

Oh well if a couple of footballers don’t understand maths it must be nonsense. 🤣
i mean it’s the same here isn’t it…let’s be brutally honest the people on here who get so angry about it just simply don’t understand maths and average, so instead of embracing it, learning, or just accepting it’s something they don’t understand they get angry about it

just dumb

It's also been explained countless times on here yet people will keep going 'I don't understand it'. It's not complicated and it's also not perfect, but it's more informative than possession as a measure of how a game went.

I think it's more that the complexity and nuance of football can't be adequately captured by some simple maths. So the maths looks stupid to people who actually watch games with their own eyes and use their experience and brains.
But you can carry on being just dumb.

which is why no one pretends it is, which is the whole point of averages. but it’s okay you keep lashing out because you skipped maths and it makes you self conscious

xG. It might be an average but what does it actually mean?
What does it indicate about what is going to happen in the next 5 minutes of a game or the next 30 minutes? The impetus of a game can change in a second and no amount of data will tell you when or how it will happen.
It is just data for data's sake.

Ok.
Can people give me a summary! (Please)

Little boy badly broke his arm playing footy at Bedworth United this morning - been at George Eliot - then over to Coventry for surgery - he's just come out.

Me and his mum (who was on her way to the game in her WBA top!) have only really seen scores!

Cheers! #PUSB!

It's not telling you what's likely to happen in a game or a moment, it's telling you where a team is likely to end up over a longer period of time.

Firstly, hope your lad is ok!

early goal, nice and compact, Rudy scored worldie rocket.

we then sat in and gave a quality away day performance. Onyeka excellent.

without doubt the worst WBA team I’ve seen, horrific. They are going down. Tactics negative, had one shot late on.

we didn’t get out 2nd gear.

then a perfect set of results in the 3pm!

xG isn’t the be all and end all of football stats

It’s just a decent indicator of the quality of chances a team creates (and concedes). Which is what a large part of football discourse revolves around.

The thing about xg is it is pretty good over a season. It can look silly over a period of a few games though

Yes some players do out perform their xg over an extended period of time but they are usually elite for that level players.
