I’ve also seen us in the Premier league.
At no point am I suggesting aim for second, I’m simply saying finishing in the top 2 is the ultimate goal, the title would be a bonus.

I like bonuses

Maybe, but another draw wouldn't be bad at all for them in reality

The games they have coming and really want to be targeting are those against the teams around them and are like six pointers

They have to play Charlton, Oxford and Blackburn and their last game of the season is against Sheff Weds, for which they would be unanimous favourites.

They are on 34 points right now. Win all those 4 and they would be on 46 and much closer to safety.

You only need to add a few draws to that and they would be clear, so I don't think they would see Saturday a must win to be honest. They have 14 games left

Win those 4 and draw 3 and they would be on 49 points. That would mean they could probably still afford to lose pretty much half the games of the 14 they have left.

Last season the 3rd from bottom finished on 49 points and the season before that, it was 50.

So anyway, I do think they may be a little cautious. Let's see. They may attack, they may not, but being so goal-shy at the moment doesn't exactly point to them attacking us and throwing caution to the wind.

I think they will try to be compact and set themselves up to be hard to beat. Scrap it out.
I have made a fair bit of money from the bookies betting on relegated teams getting unexpected results against teams desperate to get points. The teams are relaxed and don't give a fuck about losing whereas the team needing points have clenched arses all through the match🤣

I expect they will set up in a very similar way to how Stoke will in a week's time. Sit in deep and look to hit on the counter as we have struggled against for a long time.

If we're still top after WBA and SU, then I'll be a lot more confident that we'll do it. 4 points from them two would be lovely.

I reckon Sat is my first time at WBA since my only visit in 1995 😮. 100% record so far...

Edit: Oh go on then -

You tell me, I’m not the one that can’t let a fan on a fans forum say they want their team to win the league without responding 🤓Um ackshually we will still achieve the optimal financial outcome of Premier League football should we finish second 🤓
I haven't said anything about what you want. I also want to win the league, obviously. I doubt anyone doesn't. I think calling someone a c**t and saying fuck off is going too far. I have the right to express this view.

Last time we won there was a night game, was one of if not Dowie's last win in charge of us - It was deemed a bit of a freak result at the time and he was given the boot not long after

Yep, they pumped us twice at the Ricoh that season.

Apologies for light hearted swearing on the internet boss. No one is trying to stop you expressing your view.

Yeah remember them games well, we took our fair share of pummelling's off that Mowbray WBA side

That Paul Robinson who used to play at left back for them only ever scored 4 League goals for them and three of them were against us
I was at both the home games but not the away one and I actually knew a few Albion fans at the time so that was grim, only really keep in touch with one now.

I guess up until the last few years Albion had just been a better team than us since we were relegated from the Prem unfortunately. The tables have now turned and this season is the first where we are obviously significantly better. Might finally be time to win there again?

I remember my Dad making me watch all 7 in a 7-1 thrashing at West Brom. I wanted to go after their 5th went in. Even he said let's go on 7.

Willie Johnston popped in another perfectly good goal which was disallowed. So I've seen a 7-1 loss and a 7-1 win ( this season)

In my years growing up, the Mid/Late 2000s through to the 2010s - WBA for me really were the blueprint to run a football club of that size and were probably the club I was jealous of the most in the local area

Under Jeremy Peace the old owner they always ran a steady ship and cut their cloth accordingly, were never in any turmoil, bounced between the Prem and Championship - When he sold up to the Chinese owners a few years ago it all seems to have gone to pot

The ironic/funny thing is their fans were never satisfied with that and couldn't stand the old owner, I bet they wish he had stuck around now

In fairness that team was pretty free scoring in general. It was just too good for the second tier.

Love that Cov fan shouting in the background. It's mad to think really that a lot of our current squad weren't even born then.

Out f WBA and SU away now if we can win one of those that will be decent. Worse case it’s 2 draws. Just need to make sure we keep adding every point we can get now away.

Worse case is two defeats!

I'd be happy a win and a draw. Sheffield United will be tough.

Who is aiming for 2nd? We're aiming to win as many games as we can and that's all we can do. Middlesbrough won 6 on the bounce and could go on a run like that again. Thinking anything differently is being too confident. But saying you'd be happy with 2nd isn't giving up on 1st. Giving up on 1st would have been giving up on beating Middlesbrough last game.
weren't we 11 from 12 at one point? so 6 from 7 for them is no better than what we did.
