We're nearly there. We're on 74 points with 10 games to go. Most points Ipswich can get is 97, but for this to happen they would have to win their last 11 games. Millwall are sticking around like a bad smell but still need 3 wins and a draw more than us.

10 games to go. With our GD advantage we need 7 wins 2 draws or 8 wins. Each time they fail to win our target gets lower.

Ipswich v Middlesbrough is now looking very interesting

If we win the league we need the 2 weakest teams from the chasing pack to go up with us to give us any chance of staying up next season.

people were talking of Ipswich winning every game, but on paper today's game was one of their easiest. Les's see how Boro get on against QPR tomorrow

If we take Boro with us, at least we're guaranteed at least 6 points

Ipswich have 10 games left and only 4 at home

They have Millwall, Boro, Blues, Norwich and Southampton still to go

People were also talking about us having thrown away a massive lead at the top of the table and were throwing away the chances of automatic promotion, even though there were a few reasons for our bad run.

Ipswich should be doing better considering their squad. But this is the Championship and just about anything could happen. Who would have guessed we would get into this position just 5 games ago when Middlesbrough overtook us by 2 points and had won 6 on the bounce with us to play next?

Today was important after the injuries. And it would have been depressing to see Ipswich drop points and not capitalise. Feels like the squad has belief now too.

After all this we could find ourselves in a situation where we want Ipswich to beat Boro

All I want is to keep this gap between us and the teams 3rd and lower. We're running out of games so it keeps putting us in a stronger position. There's several games where the teams below us have to play each other. It could be sooner than we think.

Once we know we're going up then concentrate on the title.

It's a tough ask for Millwall still, but they're making a great go at it. I only say "tough ask" because A) They're the only side in the top 4 (and Hull for that matter) who DON'T have one of their remaining games against Sheff Wed and B) they have both of us and Ipswich to play, which you could say for any of us, but in Millwall's case BOTH these crucial games are away from home and in succession (either side of the international break) If they're still kicking about after those 2 games then you have to give it to them and say they're carrying it to the wire.

Those games are as huge in the battle for the autos as our clash against Ipswich now, IMHO.

Ipswich have the disadvantage of having 4 Homes and 7 Aways in their remaining fixtures, compared to Millwall having 5 of each and us having 6 Home, 5 away (or 6H4A after tomorrow)

However, today was landmark in my mind in the case of two sides being ruled out of the battle, short of a completely bonkers set of results for all. You're out of "battling" for automatic promotion just about due to the fact that it would take a brilliant run from us (akin to ours best of the season) to overtake you AND your form dropping to that of a decent average side (say Watford) at the same time. And we're the best placed side to do so? For Ipswich or Millwall to do so would be even more unlikely, for 2 of the 3 sides to do so with the 3 games between us still to come would be absolutely ludicrously unheard of. Even on our forum today, it was telling that whilst there were threads concerning Hull v Millwall and one keeping our fingers crossed for Leicester, your game didn't get it's own thread. It's true that your game was still paid attention to and got a few mentions (the biggest unbridge was taken that Riis of Bristol City plays like a complete spanner most of the time, until her turns into an expert marksman against us!) but I think most know that your games now have not much impact on whether we get promoted or not. EVEN in the unlikely event we somehow caught you from this stage, it wouldn't matter, because by that kind of run we'd had Ipswich and Millwall would have barely a prayer of overtaking us.

The other side practically ruled out of the battle of course being Hull, who ironically actually performed the best of any game I've seen them in recently today! But in true championship fashion, Millwall instead turned to the smash and grab technique that Hull have became masters of and employed on steroids this season and Hull were just "Out-Hulled."

It would take a real collapse to not do it now I’d imagine. I think we probably only need to win 4 of our remaining 10 games with a couple of draws thrown in as well. The injuries cause a little anxiety but realistically we should have enough in the squad to get the wins we need from our home games alone.

At least three games ahead of third, with only ten games to go and one of those against Sheffield Wednesday….there isn’t really much left for us to do.

98.16%

We've won every game we've scored first.

In the words of Keegan "I would LOVE it" if we took the lead against them at Portman Road.

I don't think it will fully sink in until we're in the stands first game next season watching Pep shaking hands with Frank to congratulate him on our 3-0 win
