So, should not a potential new investor be worried about the attitude of the Council?

No because the council's attitude has been a response to SISU's intransigence, belligerence and corporate reputation. They do not trust SISU to own the Ricoh.

I wish I had the same for every time Grendel has the nerve to question ACL's conduct when he holds such a view. Until he understands his rank hypocrisy I will continue to make the point.

He's not bothered as long as SISU are gone. Club goes down the tubes as a consequence? That's just the way it is. Job done.

Lots of things "should" happen, I should have a 12 inch cock and Kylie Minogue in my bed every night, you should have a brain, and MMM should have been born in the 15th Century, but doesn't necessarily mean that they all will happen.

Try working with what we have, rather than what you wish we had.

I should have a brain? Can you please respond to my longer post where I outlined what I support, rather than insulting me? No, because I and other anti-SISU posters own this debate, all you can do is stand on the sidelines criticising.

For the record, I don't care about ACL and certainly don't want the club to go out of business - quite the opposite. I want SISU out so the recovery can begin.

I have not seen anyone in the SISU brigade paint an alternative scenario where we can prosper with SISU at the helm.

Means to an end Torch - and Tim/Grendel has no logic to back that up.

Torch, please explain to me a scenario how we prosper with SISU at the helm? In doing so, remember that even with a rent of zero we still lose millions of pounds a year in operating losses.

CJ there is one thing I do agree with you on. If the ACL could buy the football club then sell the whole lot off, as a package that would be the best idea. But I think now sisu would prefer to liquidate the club then sell it to ACL. And anyway, they picked the buyers last time round and look who they chose, they'd probably flog it to the devil himself, as long as he had the wonga...

However, after a long wait, which led to the departure of MD Paul Fletcher, Manhattan eventually pulled out of the deal, leaving City - led by a newly appointed chairman in former director Joe Elliott - looking for new investors with the threat of administration looming.
That threat continued to look more realistic until, with less than an hour before the deadline, a deal was struck with SISU, a consortium led by former footballer Ray Ranson.
Ranson became the new City chairman and immediately put forward his plans to make £20 million available to move the Football Club forward.
On Monday February 11, the club relieved manager Dowie, his assistant Tim Flowers and chief scout Bob Dowie of their duties, leaving the Sky Blues looking for their 13th manager since 1987.

Taken from the Official CCFC website

Reneged on buying the Ricoh shares on takeover............Why wasn't the above money used to buy the stadium? Wouldn't be arguing about rent now would we!

Hypocrisy is the name of Tim Fisher's game.

Remember when he went on the radio sounding grave and concerned about the financial plight of ACL before the re-financing? Yes,the financial crisis caused by Tim Fisher.

Well, you better have a word with Nick then as someone keeps hacking your account.

Secondly, I've not seen anyone from the growing ACL brigade that states what will happen if they get their wish and SISU "get out of town". Where would that leave the club? What division would we end up in? Where would we play?

CJ - Doesn't matter does it - we didn't prosper with Richardson at the helm and no one was clamouring to remove him and Robinson & McGinnity - Where there is money and power there is corruption. Sisu are the ones who have us by the balls - there is no CCFC Holdings Ltd without them - they will liquidate the club or do you think there is some other way?

Hamil, SISU will not liquidate - even accepting peanuts from the council is better than liquidating which would leave them with nothing. It would also be terrible for their corporate reputation.

It's the fact you put me in the Pro-Sisu brigade that makes me laugh, take a view that's not virulently anti-Sisu and you have to be a supporter of them?

If you can give a genuine alternative scenario without Sisu running us?

Do you know of anybody else, anywhere, who is interested in buying the club?

No, but you want ACL to give these mythical non-existent owners a discounted rent,m rather than the people who do actually own the club.

Get your head out of the clouds.

You keep taking about logic. Ok sisu leave to me means leave stop funding and liquidation. That means a 2 division drop and then we have to ask permission to enter the conference.

What in wrath do you think is going to happen and before you answer consider this fact. We are £40 million in debt losing money hand over fist and don't own our ground. There is a club for sale 20 miles away that us in a higher division and they want around £17 million. There are no takers.

Torch rightly criticises anyone who would be pleased to see the club go to the wall. Yet he shows nought but admiration for Fisher who has used the club's future as a bargaining tool for the last year.

agree with most of this - but let's be clear - it is SISU's fault!! The rent is only a small portion of the overall losses, which are SISU's responsibility. The fact of our predicament is entirely SISU's responsibility. You cannot get away from that.

Did you support forcing the council to "back off" when CCFC went to them with cap in hand asking for millions in subidy to get the ground finished? No. You want to have your cake and eat it - you want a free ground ffs. Just grow up.

Is it tough? The writing was on the wall before they came because of the actions of their predecessors. Why do you think Alki David said 'thanks, but no thanks' after he looked at our finances.

This rent agreement is crippling this club and I'm baffled the majority of my fellow Coventry City fans do not rally behind the club and help the club get a deal we need to secure our long-term survival.

Too many look at this as: SISU v ACL, hence so much blinkered views on here, but it isn't, it's strictly CCFC v ACL, because whoever our owners are, this argument will rumble on until an agreement is reached. I support my team over a quango. 10/10.

Leicester aren't for sale and in fact bought the ground for £17m. Unfortunately the crooks who own us aren't as wealthy as the crooks who own them.

You've mis-interpreted me - I just resent the likes of you sounding all outraged about the council when everything is all CCFC's own fault.

You also clearly are not reading my posts - the club will stay at the Ricoh under a single owner who will own the ground too, and probably be in a better financial position and do well on the field.

Again, please propose an alternative scenario that sees us succeeding under SISU. The silence on this is deafening.

Yes, to get a better deal for the Club. Lower rent, F&B income.

There isn't one but currently that is because ACL and the council won't negotiate with them - I think on balance of probabilities that is down to SISU's approach but that is why there is no scenario where we succeed.

That said - we are very close to succeeding on a small scale this season or do you not accept that?

Council drop the rent, give the club full match day revenue. Therefore sisu spend more money on players, we get promoted. Sisu make some money, buy the stadium and sell the whole package off for a tidy profit.

I'm getting prepared to go to Council Meetings instead of the football now, they seem to have more supporters than the club nowadays.

"Come on you Parks and Recreations commitee", "Up the Highways", "Roads, get into 'em, dig 'em up, get into 'em, dig 'em up",

You know wat would happen. The council would charge £250 to get in, we'd refuse to pay and they'd kick us out of Coventry.

Seeing as the Ricoh is apparently a community resource according to some, wonder what the chances are that they'd let a few of us in Sunday with our boots for a bit of a kick-about?

Just a posh rec' when all's said and done.

Edit: Thinking about it, wouldn't work on "Council days", all the "Keep off the grass" signs, and getting chased off the pich by an 80 year old with a rake would put me off.
