When they started it yesterday I thought it was way too early as our team huddle hadn’t even begun.

Clearly this was to accommodate the sign language version on the screen which was for the Level Playing Field unite for access Disability Access campaign. For clarity I thought this was excellent.

I suppose having paid to have this done - you might as well pay for both verses and then play the whole thing.

I presume those complaining about it yesterday didn’t get the context or see the scoreboard.

I believe a new person took over that area and they decided to change what was working.

They’ve been doing it for a few games not just for yesterday. It’s nothing to do with the sign language

Unpopular opinion but outside of before kick off its getting on my tits now, being way overplayed. The wonderwall of Cov

If it comes on on my Spotify now I skip it

Not unpopular with me. Its a pub celebratory song after a win and had its time.

@Balli001 @shmmeee - yes you’re right but I did think that yesterday’s effort started even earlier in proceedings.

The Unite for Access campaign was clearly something to do with it - and the campaign video played ten minutes before (about fans who had used football as a platform in living with disability) was very moving I thought.

Adding the sign language to the graphics for WLAD was very slick and made us look like a highly competent operation. I’m not sure many of us would have said that too often 2 seasons ago.

I’m far more outraged about the terrible defending for both Southampton goals to be fair but I guess it all SHFW risen

It’s great but it’s nothing to do with what’s being discussed. Honestly weird attempt to try and make out people are against a pro disability campaign.

TBF before they played it yesterday it was announced it would be a one off version for something (I missed what but assume it was something to do with sign language?). So it's not always changing.

I actually preferred it, I suspect people didn't because they didn't know the words to the second verse.

That was Mark Robins’ first decision when he took over the first time. Scrap Mr Blue Sky for Chelsea Dagger we we scored.
Wasnt that before Robins?... i think every team in the championship played it after a goal?

Several clubs were doing it. But Robins explicitly stated it as one of his fresh ideas during his first media ideas on taking over in 2012.

I’ll try and dig out the reference …
