Weird day (1 Viewer)

This has got to be one of the weirdest days ever of being a Coventry City supporter. I chose the Ricoh over Sixfields because its home. It was such a cheesy game although it was a first seeing 11 goals in a game. Then I've got to say, the way we protested at the Ricoh on the pitch after the game was spectacular. Brilliant scenes of a city being reunited by football with all the media attention of sky etc being there. Then the pictures of others at Sixfields on ITV is just great. The scoreline against Bristol pretty much topped it all off. I'm glad this was on a Sunday, the whole of the UK will be watching the news, sky sports news and so on, seeing what a proud club we are. A weird day but an amazing day for Coventry fans, young and old. I'm proud to be a sky blue, are you?

it was weird, but weirdly empty also. I would normally be bouncing off the walls with a result like that but I am not sure what to feel. I am proud of the lads for the win but totally gutted I wasn't there, but glad I wasn't there (if that makes sense!!!!)

I know exactly what you mean.

I couldn't be more proud of the team at the minute. Yeah we are shipping goals but we are looking a dangerous team overall. Ive seen comments from Crawley and Orient fans saying 'you know what? You've got a tricky team there'. One or two more signings I really think we can get out of this mess. Lets not forget, Bristol City have come down and will be up there. Very proud. If we can get back to the Ricoh then that's another massive step forward. -7 lets keep chipping away.

Exactly the same here. Normally I'd be euphoric after such a win, but I do feel a sense of emptiness.

Today was weird and at times before the game I felt really, really uncomfortable and wanted to get up and leave, but when the match started I calmed down somewhat and it was good to see Whelan and Huckerby especially.

Why did you feel uncomfortable and want to leave?

Can't speak for Otis, but I was similar. The game at the Ricoh was (to a degree) irrelevant - it was more about being part of a community. I can't remember a pre-season friendly I've ever really wanted to sit through (usually bored senseless with meaningless games), though Hucks, Whelan, Billy Bell and trying to guess how long our number 15 would last before the air ambulance was called for, kept it at a level above that. Really wanted to be watching the real City though (but NOT at Sixfields)

I had a great day at sixfields! It had a pre-season friendly to it, but the result is starting to kick in now! We played magnificently at times :)
