Because he likes to point out he is a considerably better person than you. Don't worry he is better than all of us.

Plus I am sure if we all said we are 100% happy with the new plans, then all will be resolved and we can all shake hands and live gracefully. That was the point of this ........... right?

I'm amazed this needs to be spelledl out but very well.

This is clearly a deliberate ploy to deflect and create unrest.

Next stage will be a fans forum. The demand will be a bigger stadium in a more suitable environment. They will have by then secured some land in prinicipal.

As a result of the fans fury they will have to revise their plans. So then its off to the football
League asking for an extension to over 5 years as the fans need to be listened to.

So the trust, kcic fans forums agree and agree in needs building as quickly as possible.

Then see what happens....

Usual shit from you well go ahead and support them.

I for one have supported them for 40 years.
Payed for a Brick
Donated to the jimmy hill statue
had a season ticket.
Brought football tops every year
Took my children (God help them)
And what have I had in return?
Fuck Them Fuck their new stadium.

So 100% no from me.

OK, I get it. The presumption is that if we go along with it there are less excuses for SISU to use when it doesn't happen.

I kind of see it, but I think there are a couple of problems.

The first is that SISU clearly don't give a toss about what the fan's think. So it's a bit rich of them to suggest to the FL (for example) that they were going to build a 12,000 seater stadium outside Coventry, but the fans didn't like it - so can we have a bit longer please. I'd never underestimate the spinelessness of the FL, but surely even they could see through that.

I think the other thing is that we should never dilute the fact that most fans want to see the club back at the Ricoh, and the current situation is intolerable.

My response to the release of these 'plans' is along the lines of "Whatever, Tim. How about you move us back to the Ricoh first, so the *club* can get the benefit of the cheap deal currently on offer, and you and your chums can work on your colouring-in later."

I can see the point Grendel is driving at....... sometimes the best way to deal with a bluff is to call it.

The CCC and ACL will remain quiet on this for all sorts of reasons...... primarily they are getting on with their own stuff, the CCC running the City and ACL running their business. Neither can sit around on the off chance that SISU might change minds and come back to the Ricoh any time soon. Also TF etc have been pretty clear the Ricoh boat has sailed they are not coming back so they say..... well at some point ACL have to act on that and book the space out, which means that CCFC can't come back (eg CCFC couldnt play home fixtures at Ricoh next Easter)

Thats not to say I want the club anywhere other than the Ricoh as first choice. That is where CCFC should be

The purpose of the announcements is to show the FL that the club is making progress towards a new ground (a requirement for the conditions of the FL that are to be reviewed at end of season). Equally it is an attempt to ramp up the pressure on ACL and CCC - who apparently failing according to TF & ML will be desperate to off load and do any deal SISU want.

What the release of these pretty pictures was also supposed to do to the fans was increase the panic amongst fans that the club isnt coming back and create increased pressure on the stakeholders at the Ricoh to do a deal. The fans are supposed to demand CCC does a deal. Has it had that effect ? :thinking about:

I think at some point the reaction from those that can influence the situation has to be go on then build it, lets see it. I think Grendel is suggesting perhaps this is also the best response by the fans. Sooner it is built sooner the club is nearer home surely..... also the sooner the club benefits from all this large amount of extra income surely..... it is what TF etc want to do so get on with it why the delay? delay = cost surely

In reality we are at the same place we were last week - playing 35 miles away with no ground, little income, few paying fans for home games, and a whole lot of frustration amongst the supporters ....... situation unchanged and sadly normal

No no no. Sisu DO care about what the fans think. They want the fans desperate for a Ricoh return. That's the point of this circus. We are all supposed to be up in arms about a shit stadium and how we want the Ricoh. Then we all storm the Council House with fire and pitchforks and demand they hand it over.

The 10,000 storming the council house will be fought back by the 300,000 rate payers. This is just everyday business in the council portfolio.

Quite possible mate, though it suggest a level of intelligence I'm yet to see in our owners. Has a certain, low animal cunning though...

You do spout some tosh.

So, the money that Cov CC have got tied up (24m or so) will come from the magic money tree will it?

And I'm a taxpayer and I care. Who's really talking bollocks here? Just 'cos you want to give it away, don't imagine everyone else in the city will stand for it.

Stayed away for a couple of days to get a bit of my sanity back.

And guess what? For once I agree with Grendull :thinking about: Let them pretend to build the thing. What could their next move be? Certainly not build the thing. They want the Ricoh for much less than the cost of this so called stadium. Call their bluff.

Maybe the same magic money tree their £14M crutch came from?

With this response you prove yourself correct, however Mr G's suggestion has much merit. He is saying, or rather challenging them to 'go on then, build it'. In reality many people's views are skewed by the anger of the situation, but if you step back and think calmly about this joke of a situation, then we should all be saying 'go on then, build it'.

The T-shirts saying 'I agree with Grendel' will be back from the printers soon. Free pie with every purchase.

If fans backed the new stadium then SISU surely have to push on with plans or back down, Part of me thinks all this opposition to a new stadium plays out quite well.

so for arguments sake we go with this flawless plan. we all support the stadium. what next?!

we get a moral victory?

sisu are stumped by us minions?

no.

I seriously doubt there is any real outcome of "supporting" the new stadium. So the point of bothering is .....?

The point is, it would prove that SISU have no desire whatsoever in building a stadium. That would give one less thing to bicker about.

I honestly haven't read. So this 11 page thread is about whether they will build it or not??

And here was me thinking the council vs sisu arguments were pathetic.

Anyway, supporting the stadium - Is there a serious point to be made? Other than stating the obvious?

I know 11 pages is quite short isn't it. This may just be the brief introduction, the main arguments will come later. I can only suggest you read it all, although by the sounds of it, it may just ruin your Christmas.
