Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Surely we couldn't go a full week without the "Where's our new striker as promised" thread

That sweet one touch footy our kids played on Saturday was a joy, but come January in the driving rain and freezing cold on an ugly pitch we are going to need options. So yes, get him in.

Need a bit of strength at some point. Anyone know who the trialists were for the U21s?

I do understand the jest in the OP, but there will come a time where we need something different.

I'd imagine it will be a busy end to August for us, several squad players coming in...

Don't think for one minute Tony Mowbray will rest on his laurels, soon as a centre forward target becomes available he will move in and snap him up, could be this week, what a great position to be in.

Yup.

We do need a new striker. Pace is good, very good. But there'll come a time, inevitably, when a bit of a hoof and an elbow will come in handy.

But will Mowbray go for an established centre-forward type such as Izal McCleod or a young unknown, apart from Sam Ricketts none of his signings have been linked to us through the rumour or speculation machine very good at keeping his cards close to his chest is our Tone. Does anyone know who yesterday's trialists were, one a forward ?

Would like to see the other boy who Newcastle have just signed - Ivan Toney? Come in obviously not that big centre forward but it gives the same dynamics as Armstrong as such!

this isn't a transfer rumour as such as i have no solid ground to say his been linked with city however just come across something on the daily record in Scotland that says Hibs are loaning out Lewis Allen an 18 year old striker who is 6ft 2 and attracting interest from league 1 and 2 sides. with Mowbray having a link to Hibs and the height fitting what we are looking for, does anybody know anything about the kid? and would we add yet another under 20 lad into what is an inexperienced yet fantastic front line already
