The defence was the best part of the team today... Which is a concern!

Midfield is shocking without Sheaf. Eccles standard performance is 6/10. Torp is never a player in a million years. Would play Allen all day every day ahead of both.

The strikers look so poor even though we barely create anything. Not one of them can hold the ball up for a millisecond. Killed us second half today because they are incapable of controlling a football.

Angers me so much the money we have wasted assembling this shite.

Being g saying it all season our technical ability is so poor! These guys are stealing a good living in the championship, they supposedly play with a ball day and you would think the basics of ball control would be apparent. BTA couldn't trap a medicine ball

Just my opinion but I find this a bit pathetic.
You've both watched through far worse than the last few months. Seems mad to jack now

Got BSB Junior on the way later in the year and money will be tight. I cannot justify the expense next season.

Listening to Lampard…. He seems happy with the performance and felt we were unlucky. Crazy how he can see such a different game.

All waiting for the return of Haji Wright but he’s not all we need for things to look significantly brighter. The build is still a bigger job than I thought.

Am still unsure if it’s an ability or application thing. I think it could be different throughout the team.

Careful.

Not sure criticism of FL is allowed.

Main concern for me remains the same as it has for the last few games; I don’t see where the Elite Tactician stuff is happening?

I know it’s now become a buzz word on here but the reality is that’s what DK wanted, it’s his words now setting high expectations that aren’t being met.

Again today, appreciate the first was a screamer and the second a possible foul, but we invited so much pressure on ourselves.

I’ll caveat before I get accused of wanting us to lose; I want FL to do well. He seems committed and a good bloke, and overall I’ll always support the team (edited as the word ‘team’ was cut off for some reason!).

This is the problem the teams creating now. With Robins even when we were struggling people believed he could turn it around.

Lampard has come in and the results and performances are as bad as ever. Don’t blame Frank as the squad is shit; even with Hadji who doesn’t exactly show work rate I think we’d be struggling due to the lack of creativity in midfield.

We need quality signings and we need them now without losing the Crown Jewels to fund them. We’re sleepwalking into a relegation battle.

Come the summer people won’t renew. Then wouldn’t put it past Doug to bang the price up to compensate for the loss in numbers. Then we’re back to the days of 15k in the Championship that becomes sub 10k in league 1.

Doug’s gone with Frank and he needs to back him now with $. I’m not sure he’ll do it then come on CWR telling people who aren’t nearly as rich as him to back the club.

Fair enough view. The main reason is that my lad is getting too old to sit in the FZ (he's 15 now) so moving to a non FZ area over doubles what we would normally pay in that area for the 3 of us (myself and 10 year old daughter too)

Nigh on a grand when saving mortgage deposit and holiday can be put to much better use

He’d have to be Paul Daniel’s to get a decent set of results from the rubbish he’s inherited off Robins

Hopefully Frank has a good transfer window. His pull for better players is part of why we got him in.

He may be a good coach, but at the moment something isn’t quite right and he doesn’t appear the right fit for our club

Thing is, we all know that Doug knows nothing about football, he's basically admitted it himself.

So how would he know what an elite tactician is?

I don't think Lampard has ever been described as that. It's quite clear Doug either wanted a 'name' from the outset or was seduced by one.

I was told before the Preston game on 19th October Lampard will be the man to take over if/when Robins goes

It was an open secret

Hes doing a Boris in a fridge somewhere. We wont hear off him i can assure you, his ego won't take it

Last actual info i heard was he was rightly pissed off hes been told this is a 'top 6 deck' and gone public backing those who brought them in. However again, his ego won't let him be seen to be wrong on this. He's backtracked many a time, ST prices, JSB memberships etc.

But to backtrack on this and openly admit he's allowed unqualified people (Austin, Claire Roberts, and tbf on some players Mark Robins) to piss the only chance this club would have had to succeed on his 5 year plan? Well you've got more chance of growing a vagina

Quite a lot of people had heard it by the QPR game that midweek. Baffling it still took more than another month to get it done.

Robins also delivered a huge turnaround in results and performances at about this stage of every season.

Exactly mate

And hugely disrespectful to Mark Robins.

'I don't wanna go behind Marks back'

He did. Correct rumours of a new manager, weeks before the current one was sacked doing the round show it wasn't bullshit

To be fair though mate, that's a personal reason not to get one more so than a football related one.

I equally feel the same about going home and away, it feels a complete waste of time and money when it's so dull and I should be saving money myself.

Yeah I get that too. My daughter wants to move but it would be further for dad to walk and he couldn't stand for 90 mins, so we'd still not be in Singers. I said the extra cost would mean a couple of away games we'd miss too so she stays. We're right on the edge of 31 though so one seat across the aisle is full price.

We’ll never know, but he had credit in the bank to say those things because he did deliver a turnaround by the end of the season- every season. Lampard doesn’t have that credit yet, so obviously he’s gonna be under that bit more scrutiny when he says these things.

Bit calmer now, still think we’ll be ok- top ten still on- but my god I think he should have changed something up near the end today.

Id still commit to it though usually mate. I just do not trust the current 'head of recruitment' to turn this around. None of us do.

Add to that the owner who despite pushing us forward off field has helped make us go 75 steps backwards on the pitch, I have zero confidence.

If I thought we would really turn it around over the summer I'd still have a row with the Mrs and stick it on the credit card. I have 0 faith

Yeah I get you. The more it goes on, the more I'm demoralised.

Although from what you've said in the past about Doug needing promotion, I'm sure he's more concerned/angry than all of us.

I'm livid with the players and whoever was in charge of signing these players. I'm livid with whoever failed to notice we needed another midfielder and some experienced leader.

It’s something a lot deeper. Objectively, the team is better this season than last season and yet we’re nowhere near that level. We finished 9th last season so that should be benchmark.

I do think Robins may have created a mess with the coaching structure and recruitment because even he didn’t know what team he wanted to play by the end of it.

With Lampard, it’s still early days but the sooner he wises up and plays Simms upfront and pair Thomas and Kitching up front, get EMC and Haji back in the team, things should look up.

It’s going to be a big summer and we need to get it right.
