You have to beat who ever is out infront of you and winning is a good habitWe’ve had an easy start to the season. We all knew that before it had started. The run is much harder post Wrexham.
I suspect we will drop into our natural position of 5th / 6th before January.
How many times Have we lost to so called easier teams
Points are points, doesn’t matter where they come from
Where do they come from where do they go?
Disgraceful and defeatist? Some of the negative comments on here are disgraceful. Defeatist.
Some of you need to change attitude.
We are all part of this, we all need to believe it might make the difference.
Listen to Doug King.
@CottonEyeJoe?Where do they come from where do they go?
Well thats based on last years performance so its a nonsense science isnt it?To be fair, before the season even started Opta had us as one of the easiest run of fixtures in the league.
Championship Fixtures: Who Has the Toughest Start to 2025-26? | Opta Analyst
The 2025-26 Championship fixtures are out, so we analysed which teams have the easiest and toughest starts to the new EFL season.theanalyst.com
It's based on last year's, but I wouldn't say it's nonsense science. We have only played 1 of the 6 teams directly under us, but have played 5 of the bottom 6, so we have had an easier start in reality too.Well thats based on last years performance so its a nonsense science isnt it?
We’d be above Sheffield WednesdayIf we had lost all our games we would be bottom of the league
I thought Ipswich would drop off that season and they didn’t at all!Same as us the year Ipswich pissed it to the Premier League! go and look at our comments!
"they are living on the promotion from L1 and it wll drop off soon"
"Flash in the pan!"
"they havent played anyone in the top 6 yet!"
"They cant keep this up!"
"They will fall away soon!"
We didn’t actually play too badly at Portman Rd but they scored a frankly ridiculous goal in that game. When it’s your year, they all find their way inI thought Ipswich would drop off that season and they didn’t at all!

A lot easier to achieve consistency when the group is basically the same from one season to the next, and consistency is what gets you promotedAgreed, they didn’t look anything special, just extremely effective and good at what they did!

Probably say the same about Luton, albeit they went up through the play offs
Calling it a style is somewhat generousI think Luton that season at had a very distinct style of play that was quite different to other top 6 teams / promoted teams in recent years.

Sheffield United were in with a shout of automatic promotion last season. They then nearly won the playoffs. This season they have been poor. It's based on last year's, but I wouldn't say it's nonsense science. We have only played 1 of the 6 teams directly under us, but have played 5 of the bottom 6, so we have had an easier start in reality too.
We are flying and have absolutely nothing to worry about but we will have some tougher tests coming up over the coming weeks. You can ultimately only beat what is in front of you.
These are odd times.
Top 2 after 12 games have the same points totals and even W-D-L breakdowns as those in 21-22. Bournemouth who were top went on to finish second, West Brom who were second went on to finish 10th...
Maybe we are the Fulham this season!I could see us having a similar run to that Bournemouth team, losses here and there from November onwards but overall securing enough points for automatics.
Plus it looks like we won’t have to contend with a team like that Fulham side, 3 7-0 wins that season and Mitrovic a fucking machine (but we did the double over them)
Also think we’ll benefit from a league where it looks like most of the teams you’d expect to push on just can’t find any consistency and might go through some managerial changes (Southampton, Leicester etc.,)
Bournemouth's squad depth that season was obviously better than ours is this time, but they ended up collecting another 60 points exactly for the rest of the season which comfortably got them over the line. Fulham scored over 100 goals with Mitrovic bagging over 40.I could see us having a similar run to that Bournemouth team, losses here and there from November onwards but overall securing enough points for automatics.
