We’re 4pts from promotion (29 Viewers)

If we beat Sheff Wed on Saturday that will put us on 87 pts. If Millwall and Middlesbrough both fail to win their games on Friday and Saturday then they can only get 85 pts each maximum. So .... that means we are definitely promoted

Quaking in my boots that Middlesbrough might overturn +21 goal difference or Millwall might overturn +33 goal difference.

We’re already up but win on Saturday and we’ll be up in all but name.

We up, but we’ll be doubly up on Saturday and up with a cherry on top the following Friday

Ipswich have to play 6 games in the next 22 days!!!!

That's a massive ask to expect them to win all 6.

I think its safe to say a win on Saturday will guarantee promotion.
It isn't the 6 games in 3 weeks that will do them. The run of 4 games in 9 days right near the end, starting at home to Middlesbrough where they won't be able to take it easy, then having to travel to Charlton, WBA and finish at Southampton is a brutal way to finish a season.

Never mind. They have Norwich next 😁

Ipswich are 2 games in hand but 12 points and 13 goals behind. We should beat Sheffield Wednesday, and hopefully by a few goals to add to our GD. Without Ipswich playing that's 15 points behind with just 7 games to go. If they lose just 2 more games we would only need 1 more points from 4 games. They have Norwich away on the 11th and Southampton away on the 28th. Middlesbrough won't be a walkover either.

If Ipswich lose two games 4 more points wins the championship and they have Norwich, Boro and Southampton to play yet.

I’d be surprised if they get anything from Norwich & Southampton

Think Ipswich will finish with more points than we’ve got. But also think we’ll win 4 of our last 5
? If Ipswich win all their games they would have 93 points. If we won 4 out of 5 we would have 96. Thats how I worked it out when I last went to school 65 YA .Perhaps I should take inflation into account.

When promotion or winning the title is confirmed I'm not sure I get the appeal of a pitch invasion.

Just means all the players will head down the tunnel ASAP rather than stay out and celebrate.
I wouldnt of thought so. It wont be an angry atmosphere. If it was a protest invasion, yes. Players will retreat quick sharp. But surely not with a celebration one. They'll be shaking hands and taking selfie left right and centre. Then maybe clear the pitch for the players to do a lap of honour?

Just morons on twitter. A pitch invasion when we’re not promoted might be the most tinpot thing we’ve ever done.

Exactly- not yet promoted for a start and then the optics of celebrating on the pitch because we have just beaten the worst Championship team ever .

I can see Norwich taking a point of them, and the same against Middlesbrough and Saints.
So a win for us at home to Sheffield Wednesday will not only be enough for promotion, but should also wrap up the title.
(Allbeit not absolutely mathematically, but as good as, if you know what I mean)

What a lovely position to be in.

Would you trust every single fan on that pitch not to either take a pot shot at one of the opposition players or try to climb on the backs or our players? Particularly when drink is involved.

It doesn't matter who we beat on Saturday, its a celebration of success achieved over the 42 games that will be celebrated.

The ambitious challenge set out by DK will already of been realised with 4 games to go,
Record attendances achieved, record goal numbers achieved, great entertainment, amazing atmospheres, the re-uniting of club and stadium achieved, the best players and management team weve had for a generation. The rising from the depth of division 2 to the promised land!!!

Thats what will be being celebrated.
And quite rightly so!

Youd have to be a real dickhead to try and throw shade on all that.

We can and will celebrate it in the stands though right because without being mathmatically promoted a pitch invasion looks silly

I agree about the team though ,wouldnt matter if it was bromley

Call me an old romantic, but id love to see Eccles on the pitch when promotion is finally achieved, what with him being one of our own, longest serving (or longest suffering) and having been here since he was in nappies, (18 years he's been here) and being at the club through all our piss poor sisu years etc etc.
