Who's going? How are you getting there and where is everyone drinking?

Yup. About 12 of us going in a mini bus. In previous years there's a Wetherspoons in the town centre that's away-fan friendly and a 10 minute walk from the ground that's been popular with City fans. Paying on the gate is normally expensive, there's no alcohol served in the ground, and no area designated for those who like a smoke to partake at half-time :thinking about:

Tickets looking fairly steep for me-I probably will anyway and look to get there mid-morning/noon and find a decent away pub. Like yourself though I could use a few suggestions :p

This is now my nearest Championship ground, probably about 20 minutes drive, so I shall definitely be going :p

Tickets £26 in advanced, I'm going, been a few times, the ground is a shit hole TBH. I keep saying I've had enough of this away day shit. We have to win away somewhere... don't we

If there's a big City following i cross my fingers and hope the team don't let the fans down yet again.

The Moon Under Water is decent, usually packed with City fans terrorising the locals, great fun.

1. Anywhere good to park? I need to drive on Saturday but usually get the train for this one.
2. I presume it will be pay on the gate, would be good to know now if it isn't?

Count me in plus 4. Can never remember the name of the pub - it's the one does the beefburgers in the beer garden and backs onto the cemetery...

Car parking is a bit of a mere, no street parking, like the Ricoh, best bet is one of the town centre car parks in the Harlequin Shopping centre.. http://www.theharlequin.uk.com/Visitor-Information Church Car Park is about 10 minutes from the ground

I can only guess there is pay on the gate, not many grounds sell out these days

I remember going there once on my own in the 80s. I reversed into a car on the way home. Sorry about that Mr Watford fan. I really should have admitted to it at the time. I did the same thing when we went to Oxford too around the same sort of time. I was rubbish at driving in those days.

I left my car in a car park the other day, when I came back to it the bumper and rear lights were all smashed up. Then I found this note under the wiper. It said: I just accidentally reversed into yourcar.
Quite a few people saw me do it.
They think I'm leaving my name and details.
Well, I'm not.

Was this you Torchy? :D

Now, I'm not taking the rap for ALL road traffic accidents. Just those in Watford and Oxford circa 1985.

I remember going there in my old vauxhall viva in the 80's parked near the ground, after the game nearly all the cars had their windows smashed - not mine - I think they thought it looked bad enough as it was...:)

That's hilarious (admittedly probably not for you). Did that genuinely happen? That guy needs some credit for improvisation. Genius.

I'm going down on the coaches. It's only £15 and I would have spent a lot more than that getting there any other way. A bit bummed that I'm not going to be able to get a pint at their temperance toilet or have a cig at halftime. I guess I'll have to get full to the gills before 11:30. What time does the casino open? It might be the perfect place for a pre coach ride tipple or two. Might run away to find a pub when the coach arrives at Vicarage.

Just tried to book mine over the phone but I've been told I've missed the deadline for postage-I have to call them up again tommorrow to re-book when they'll send the ticket down on the coach. Has anyone else done that?

I've been to Watford a few times but memorably one day was when our game was cancelled on my birthday (one of their loan players Jimmy Davis was killed in a car crash on the morning of the game). We were at a service station on the M1 when we heard it was called off so decided to watch Luton V Rushden instead. A few of us chanting City songs in the Luton stand caused a bit of a stir among the locals but we'd had a few glasses of pop and Sheffers was playing for Luton I think :) Can't remember the score but fairly decent game from what I remember and a few goals.

Went last year 2-0 down and Bell and Juke got us back to 2-2. Cant do this time due to work but have to say what a shit hole of a ground and the town is no better.
Lets hope we can go one better this time

Anyone any idea what sort of following we are taking?

Just wondering if it might be a good idea to take just a couple of hundred, cos every time we take a big following and have a bit of expectation we end up with the team letting us down.
