I put up an article about the sales on here the other day. I think the attendance had dropped by at least 11k

The post has been removed.

You mean this one?

http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threa...ected-for-Wasps-home-game-against-Sale-Sharks

Probably moved as you were trying to post your rubbish on the football section again

Yes it was that article posted on here the wasps thread. I posted the whole article and put a line on there about the crowd dropping by quite a large amount. It was on there for a while then was no longer in there. I presumed it was removed over the comment before it about only stuff that Wasps do that affects CCFC been allowed on here.
I actually thought it was relevant due to the attendance Wasps were going to get and how that might affect us going forward in the joint areas we will work together.

To be honest I was a bit surprised to see it go as it wasn't a post projecting Wasps in a good the light. The article talks about a bumper crowd. My adjoining comment was about the fall in the crowd.

Not sure what happened to it if it hasn't been removed. Are you the only one who can delete posts Nick?

Some of them on twitter are hilarious, switching between angry at sisu and supporting wasps.

This is a couple of months after being outraged about wasps but the bandwagon went with supporting wasps so they did too!!

That's the same article that is not my post that disappeared
I copied and pasted out the the whole article it sled and I placed a comment underneath it about the drop in attendances.
It was on this thread for a while then it disappeared. I assumed it was removed over our messages regarding the confusion over what this Wasps thread was for. But I actually thought the drop in attendance was relevant like it is getting discussed now

Sorry just clicked that link. I thought CCFC had put the link for the actual article.
Did that go as a whole separate thread when I posted it?
I am sure it was on this Wasps thread under our chat about what the purpose if this thread was for

Have to say all these posts about wasps attendances. Not about CCFC does make me wonder why mine was moved? Mine was also about the attendance for wasps?

Do you mean the one that was moved into your thread within a couple of minutes and as soon as it was seen?

It's ok though, blatantly a conspiracy...

I am asking why my post about the upcoming Wasps match and the drop in attendance was removed from this thread to elsewhere by you. Yet here on this thread are lots of posts including some by you about the attendance.

Because it was a new topic...So it was moved into it's own thread.

It wasn't deleted and it wasn't censored....

Jesus christ will you just give it a rest, your post probably got 10x more attention and more views being given its own thread rather than being buried in hundreds of posts on this thread.

Had a bit of time on my hands yesterday so I thought I'd do a bit of research couldn't get totally up to date data and It wasn't all encompassing but anyway
Gloucester are an interesting case in point based on season before last
Average crowd circa 12K
Average for the Premiership circa 5.5K
Turnover circa £12M on the old TV deal
which currently works out at over £3M
which Is around a million more than our football Championship
Gloucester achieved a profit on that turnover of £500K+
Typically players such as Toby Flood were earning £150K
The current Premier TV deal comes In at £152M OVER 4yrs
This Is dwarfed by the French deal which comes in over twice the British one although there was to be scrutiny of that
I Didn't find a conclusion of that but there has been an exodus of British talent following the money
Two things struck about this and those are player salaries
Flood at the top of his and the sports game earned a third of our journeyman when In the Championship
Secondly Gloucester achieved a turnover greater than ours when we were attracting 20K to the games and player sales supplemented our income by a couple of million
My second attempt to draw some comparisons to Wasps being supplanted here was to look at MK DONS crowd levels when started up
Couldn't find totally accurate data but It looked like they averaged 10.5K
Currently and for the last couple of seasons they have settled around 8.5K
A different code yes but possibly a sign of how Wasps will stack up next season
So conclusion now Wasps have a ground I would expect them to achieve a Turnover of £12M-£14M of which due to salary cap £4.5M wages and CCC loan £1.7M should leave them £5M-£7M to run the rest of it
This is just opinion and the figures around my conjecture could be out but the contrast to football finance particularly player salaries are staggering as Is the Impressive turnover of Glouceter generating £12M on those gates.

There was a report done about 15 yrs ago on sporting event revenues and football had the lowest per spectator. Horse racing (excluding betting) was the highest and Rugby was also very high.

Im guessing at Gloucester the spend per fan is very high.

You look at the price of tickets they're usually x2 the cost of football ticket - adults were £40 per ticket at adams park, that then spills over to their ST's prices.

the report was on spectator spending, ticket and betting wasn't included. It was merchandise, hospitality and F&B

People talk about the amount of money from the new TV deal but we all know how that works. Money floods in at the top and all of a sudden the players are asking for silly money to sign or renew contracts. I'm not sure you can say the TV money is going up X so the clubs will be better off by the same amount. Chances are most if not all of it will go straight back out. Or, if they follow footballs example, they'll overpay the players and ending up spending more than they have.

Think the cap remains and the authorities have allowed a 10% bump
Think they're also allowed to give two players salaries above the cap

I'd imagine the fact you can drink alcohol in your seat is a significant factor in that.

I'm sure creative accounting and agents can find a way round these things. Player sponsorship, image rights etc. Can't be that hard to find a way to get cash to a player without it being part of their salary and impacting on the cap.

Agreed CD also your point prior
You can see that happening just like football
Also think they're naive thinking the lure of playing for England will prevent an Exodus to France

Something about Richardson putting £2.6M in

Edit ;-Oh I think they are really missing a Sponsor!
