This is really the important part of both statements. Thousands of fans didn't go to Northampton because they could see that Sisu were using the club as a pawn. I didn't go to Northampton but did go to St Andrews as last season it seemed the club had no where else to go. One of them is lying /playing with words. If it turns out to be Sisu and a deal at the Ricoh was there to be had then what is different now to our year in Northampton?
At the age of 63 I am wondering if I will ever see my team play in my city again. I wish they would all clear off, play their games elsewhere and leave our club alone.

It’s pretty certain he would have seen the deal offered by wasps to Hoffman

Why isn't he saying what?

It's nothing to do with buying the club stuff, it's because the bloke has worked closely with both sides in it so will clearly have a better idea.

To say he knows the same as you and me is clearly not true. He will know what Hoffman was up to, he made that quite clear when he fucked them off. (Strangely the local media didn't do much digging about it for some reason).

If Wasps were desperate, wouldn’t they just drop their conditions and have us back? It’s been Wasps demands from the start (if you believe what the club say), all the power is with them.

We aren’t “starving out” anyone. We simply want to keep trying to get the stadium and they want us to stop. That’s all it’s ever been, no matter what Nicks wall of photos and red string says. Sisu calculate its worth more to keep trying than we are losing.

Frankly that fact makes me doubt the stadium is a serious proposal and not another stalling tactic.

Great use of language I know I am. I’m absolutely happy that joy might not want the nda to open up the box though. I can only tell you my conversation with wasps was duplicitous and a promise made was not fulfilled, my conversation with Sisu was completely the opposite. Make of that what you will. Probably exactly what you are saying wasps don’t need us and we need what they’ve got

No way that's the case regarding the Hoffman syndicate, he saw something involving wasps that he didn't like and walked away. Significant moment in this saga for me.
I honestly don't think its the case with the club either, he may be a devoted supporter but I don't think hard nosed business people spend money as he did at Ryton without something in return. Maybe he is just besotted with getting the access he does to Robins and the team but I think there's more to it than that.

All of that may be true. None of it means he has privileged access to these talks. He’s not claiming that either. It’s been made up entirely out of whole cloth on this forum and now anyone who doesn’t believe it is a troll.

Never change SBT.

I’m out for a bit. I’m pissed off. They’re all cunts. And I’ve got no patience for the Sisu stans today. Want my club back. People who havemore of a hard on for having fantasies about making Wasps bust than CCFC playing in Cov anger and confuse me in equal measure.

He doesn't seem the type to want to do stuff for his ego though to be fair.

I don't know him, could be wrong but it's not him making a big song and dance about stuff that he does. Whereas Hoffman is on the hotline to the Telegraph everytime he has a shit.

Why did none of the local media do some digging about Overson's claims about Wasps?

He obviously does have more access to information than "normal" fans though. That's not just from the CCFC side either.

He was involved with the Consortium with Hoffman while Wasps were, he will have seen and heard what they were talking about. He didn't like it.

I'm not saying people who don't believe him are trolls, but for me he's the more trust worthy than others involved.

He doesn't make statements but you have to read between the lines of what he does say and obviously that can lead to misinterpretation. But that's the same with every utterance on this subject no mater who it's from.

The people of Coventry are fickle, were Wasps doing well they'd probably get just enough in there to stay afloat. As it is, they get worse by the season, crowds get lower, debts get bigger. They can't have long left.

At what cost do we return to the RICOH?

Last season the indemnity was the issue, I can’t see what’s changed to see why it wouldn’t still be an issue.

Assuming this still is the case, is the risk of signing up to an indemnity and restricting your own manoeuvrability to pursue legal action too.

If it was your business, and your money at stake, would you pay the cost?

Whilst I love the club, I wouldn’t have signed up to it in 2019, nor in 2020 if it were still the case.

when the ruling from the EU commission comes out AND if they find grounds for illegal state aid to Wasps.
If Sisu and the club had waived any right to legal redress then we would be questioning why?
There are some big IFs here, but this has yet to be played out

Exactly, the fact the local media shit themselves when Pete went onto the radio last year says a lot.

When Linnell tried to argue with usskyblue about it too and lost his head.

Agreed.

Until this ruling comes out, no sensible or rational actor would take that risk. Particularly if it was their money on the table.

Wasps and CCC know the RICOH is the only place we can play football in Coventry. All parties know this. It makes the club completely dependent on Wasps. The lack of a relationship between the CCC and the club means the possibility of building a stadium in their jurisdiction is close to 0%.

What is the alternative solutions for the club?

I’m not sure how any of this whole current scenario is playing out comes as a surprise to anyone who’s been paying attention the last 10 years. I’m sick of it to be honest and can’t be arsed to share an opinion other than I’m not surprised by any of it. On that basis all it leaves is support the club and on that basis the only thing that will be keeping me away from St Andrews next season is concerns over safety regarding Covid. I’ll make up for it though with purchasing merchandise and ifollow to stream games.

I think this statement is a reflection of the style of the new wasps ceo Stephen Vaughan. It would be him doing the negotiation not Eastwood. From what I understand the guy is very sharp.

It does raise questions and doubts. It was intended to, but is a holding action intended to take a little wind out of the ccfc statement

Both statements push the NDA I would think with the ccfc one pushing it hardest. Wasps don't as a rule comment that often and certainly give little away if they do.

Wasps won't comment again until any statement is checked by the lawyers

Sisu released emails last year that formed part of the information gathered for the various court cases. My understanding is that this would have allowed disclosure even if covered previously by an nda. These negotiations however are entirely private so I wouldn't expect publication of terms discussed etc unless sisu wanted to completely burn their bridges at this stage. They might need to negotiate again.

I know a lot of fans accept the sisu statements last year as the facts but it was really just the story that sisu want us to see. It contained items they judged would be most damning of primarily the council (whose role needs calling out) but it wasnt the whole story

Wasps are no different in the statements they put out. It is history according to them. As it is with CCC

I frankly do not trust either side. Have yet to see any statement in this saga that is completely factual and free of spin

Why do Wasps need to check claims from CCFC? What it really means is that they need to get the Council in to work out a response.

Were the statements about Wasps in talks years ago not factual then? One of the things released even proved something was going on that a previous judge had denied was happening.

They should have done that from the start rather than letting Weber Shandwick, PWKH and he other little rats go unchallenged.

Cant see how Wasp can survive unless CCC buy bonds or give them handouts.

No rugby for the last 4 months,
Drop in TV revenue,
No hotel casino conference revenue for the foreseeable future,
Losing at the moment £10m a year,
No crowds allowed when season restarts,
RFU in financial trouble,
No Christmas funfair and works parties,
No concerts,
No CCFC rent and F and B revenue on the horizon,
No stadium sponsorship deal,
No new training facility,
Bonds in freefall,
Please feel free to add more!

Its just ridiculous and totally unsustainable for them to carry on as a business. Surely the owners must be thinking of throwing in the towel sooner rather than later

Any statement needs to challenged by linking up the known facts (not opinion) that are already out there. It should never be taken in isolation. Have to try as best can to keep an open but enquiring mind not just accept face value or accept what is said because that is what we want to hear
