Hard to know who to believe really. Obviously want to believe the club but let's not pretend like both clubs haven't had a history of telling porkies. Seems very bizarre for such different stories to be coming from both sides when they've been pretty aligned previously.

CCFC said explicitly it was an indemnity for the third party.

“We were not aware the club would be making a statement this evening and will be looking carefully at elements of what they have claimed, and may possibly comment further in the next couple of days.”

Interesting. Needs the local media to press all sides hard, including the council who are obviously the third party, to get complete clarification around the indemnity for a change. Really hope they're up to the job.

Why do I get a sneaky feeling a trap has been laid, is this going to be one of those occasions where the club suddenly produce a load of emails to back up their story?

Wasps' statement looks hasty (so I accept they didn't realise CCFC had pulled the plug) whereas the CCFC one has been prepared for a (little) while at least.
Are SISU seeking to force a break of the NDA?

It does have a feel of before where they dropped out some email attachments.

Yeah but weren’t they going “it’s the same as last year, can’t tell you what happened this year but here what happened last year and it’s the same as that”?
This is the relevant bit. About as clear as they can make it without breaking the NDA. You don't have to be a genius to work out what they are getting at.
However following months of negotiations and despite being very close to agreeing commercial conditions, the same issues that prevented a deal last season have again prevented a deal for the upcoming season.

Unfortunately we are unable to disclose full details due to the requirement to sign a non-disclosure agreement prior to negotiations taking place.

Last year the critical issue was Wasps’ insistence of indemnity clauses into the license agreement, with this indemnity for themselves and for a third-party.

Coventry City and its Owners last year, during failed talks for the 2019-20 season, made a written undertaking to irrevocably cease all proceedings against Wasps relating to the sale and lease of the Ricoh Arena. No legal action against Wasps or its Owners exists, and Coventry City and its Owners have again made this same undertaking this year.

Despite this undertaking, the clauses introduced by Wasps, for themselves and for a third-party, then added conditions that would unreasonably restrict the Club and SISU’s basic legal rights and would commit the Club and SISU to underwrite Wasps’ and that third-party’s costs and all future damages. This would put the Football Club at substantial risk and jeopardise its very future.

You’re going to have to spell it out. That just seems like a rehash of last years stuff.

The reason I feel wasps are lying..... The statement is too nice

It seems a bit rushed. They haven't got a response for certain things CCFC has said so I am not sure they were expecting it to be said.

I can't quite figure it out yet, there will be more to come.

It’s going to be interesting to see what wasps say in the coming days. Dint last time this happens the club released a statement from SiSU with emails and stuff in it. Before wasps put out a full statement

“The news that CCFC is working in partnership with the University of Warwick to create its own stadium was not communicated to us until after it was released publicly"

Errr, why would it be?

"may possibly comment further in the next couple of days.”

Don't trouble yourselves now will you?

Unless the first bit is relative to the deal on the table
