Can see why they gave him the job as he's done such a good job of getting a new naming rights deal for the Ricoh!

He's only been chief exec for 9 months but you can't blame him for getting out at the first opportunity.

He was there a bit longer, 2017 as Commercial Director and then they split the rugby and non-rugby stuff and put in a Chief Exec for each in 2019. It was around the time Lawrence Dallaglio complained they were a business with a rugby bit attached. They've now gone back to one and put the remaining rugby guy Stuart Vaughan in charge of both. Stuart Cain had a long history in the industry, not surprising they haven't replaced the role post-Covid but they'll have less expertise running it. Stuart Vaughan is the same guy that didn't give a shit when the rugby activities were being played against the CCFC memorial walls.

Read that yesterday,
What do we make of this quote...
"The business was growing and we were having a record year in terms of events and conferences while the priority on the field has changed since the club first moved to Coventry."
Business growing??

Don't worry guys according to wasps forum users. All the objections for the training ground come from SBT trolls who have never been to Henley in Arden.

The fact you can see people addresses on the objections shows most are from the local area. With the little support for it from people outside.

Also Sports England position is currently Holding objection due to a number of points. (obviously this will change depending on information given to them)

Yeah. Saw that.
I read it as that they think the whole scheme has been cooked up by "SBT trolls"

They've claimed every year that its a record number of events and conferences yet the diary of events on their website is increasingly empty, as is the car park whenever you drive past. Also has never reflected in the accounts. Surely if we believe each year they are attracting a record amount of business yet still make huge losses they are just showing that the business isn't viable.

Saw this posted on Facebook
According to Warwickshire County Council and the case officer Alison Willers, our friends from London, either out of the goodness of their hearts or perhaps because they have been instructed to by Sport England, are expected to make further submissions regarding their community use statement. This will then be the subject of further consultation, including further public consultation. Thus delaying the application even more.
I think that several organisations are missing the point here. Which is, unless they are prepared to restore the facilities to their former usage or very very close, any minor alterations to outdoor usage or amounts of free tickets to see a struggling Rugby team, are a complete waste of time to us.
Based on their plans, the gym is to become a canteen and the sports hall is to become a gym. I would therefore be interested to know how they plan to accommodate a kids holiday club, a church meeting or a game of netball taking place around 20 stone giants lifting weights, or maybe the Doctor's surgery could refer patients to lift the tea urn up and down or do 20 laps of the confectionary counter.
It seems to me that they are absolutely determined to see this through, I can't imagine why that might be??? You'd have thought that having become aware of the massive strength of feeling locally against this proposal, and the fact that there is a local Community interest company ready to purchase the site and keep it operating for the good of the many and not the few, they might at this stage have started to look elsewhere.
I can assure them that if they are trying to play the long game, in the hope that we will lose impetus, they are very much mistaken. Unlike them, we are local people with a vested interest in the wellbeing of our community, not a professional sports franchise with a financial motive.
For anyone who has read the WCG submissions on the planning portal, the reason that we have never made a bid for the centre is because WCG have refused to allow us to, more than once. They are also fully aware of our ability to raise the funds. I think that it is very telling, when someone begins their correspondence with"Further to our previous factual statement". Why on earth would we have thought that their previous statement wasn't factual????

Not sure why Warwickshire County Council are involved, thought the application was to Stratford District Council.

"```We have very little revenue coming in and we are spending considerable time looking at parts of the business, including the playing side, and how we can be more efficient when we are able to open the doors again.````"

It does look like the 'Titanic' is sinking and it is everyone for themselves.

The plans for Lifeboat 'C' on the other side of the waters seems to be by invite only.

How much money "could" they generate from selling off part of the training ground land to housing developers when/if that purchase goes through?
Think that may be a plan for them. Think that the guy who submitted their application had something to do with a housing developer....

It must be getting to the nitty-gritty of Richardson's desire to see this through. Anyone can see that it's unsustainable the way they've gone about it so far.

How deep are his pockets?

The bond price is holding up recently (although at a paltry 50p)....hoping to see more of a slide - here is hoping.

Holding up is a very glass half full way of looking at t considering if you bought them now at that price you'd be expecting to receive double your investment in two years as well as an interest payment in between. Nobody wants them because they're already worthless.

Talking about if they want us back or not

DrunkenWasps.com - Do we want Cov FC back at the wasps nest next season?

Some fun snippets

"I'd welcome them back once the legals are dropped."

(or if in the mean time the latter agrees to indemnify Wasps against any potential losses resulting from a possible EC investigation)

I loved the fact that he said he'd thought long and hard about the title, and then came up with 'Cov FC' FFS.
Cov FC have played just once at the Ricoh (hopefully never again). Just shows the knowledge levels of these clowns.

like a red rag to a bull.
Welcoming back the football team to our stadium, pie in the sky rent figures as if they are entitled to capitalize on football team doing well to push themselves backinto the black
