Seen that a couple of times.
Also comments related to it not being covered by our beloved Waspograph.
Is he still linked to Wasps?
What are your thoughts on Wasps claiming Gov't support with the possibility of still getting the revenue anyway if their games get played?

Makes me wonder if there are any checks in place to ensure that the employees companies claim for are genuinely not working.

It's probably genuine that staff arent currently working but it's not like they are missing out on say, fitting a central heating system or a decorating job.....
They will STILL get revenue from games etc...it will just be delayed - and a bit like a bonus after having wages paid for staff during next 3 months!
You cant do double central heating systems and decorating jobs due to time/staff etc...
See what I mean!?
In the long term they could come out of this BETTER off (also saving money in player wages -25% cut)

They, like most business' in the UK currently will just have staff sat around doing not a lot, playing, non playing and admin, as much as I don't like them I think what they're doing here is fine and just sensible business practice.

Over the course of the "season" they will still get the same amount of revenue if all their games are played. If games do restart they will have to get all the staff in to work and the govt will stop their Furlough payments.

I know Wasps have furloughed there non playing staff and reduced the players salary's but they still have an expensive stadium to maintain and with no money coming in will they struggle to pay bills.CCFC will have none of this nor will the other Premiership Rugby clubs as there stadiums are nothing like the high cost of the Ricoh.

Hotel, exhibition centre, casino, still electric, gas, water bills, rates, insurance and maintenance to pay for, groundsman too, I wouldn't of thought the whole place is chained up no, still have to pay a sizeable amount each month I would of thought, other rugby clubs wouldn't have this problem.

Won't the hotel and casino be paying their rent?

Every rugby club would have a groundsman wouldn't they? Even we have groundsmen.

Don't see their expenditure hurting them too much, they'll be getting the same exemptions and help as most businesses in the country.

Their lack of revenue will be their main concern, there doesn't seem to be the same desire to get games played to finish the season in rugby as there does in football. Will they have to repay season ticket holders, TV money etc? Insurance may cover this however

Got to put doubts in place about getting their hotel built. You've got delays which mean it may well no longer be ready for City of Culture which was one of the reasons given for building it. Plus the hotel industry is likely to be looking how to save money when this is over, not rushing to open new hotels.

You can just see it now when the ribbons being cut the hotel owners faces with breaking news that Wasps RFC have been placed into liquidation!

Any decent business wouldn’t take a chance on such a project would they?

"Two days after the 39-22 Ricoh Arena success, news of the Wasps group losing nearly £5m in a six-month period was revealed by CoventryLive."

Didn't it take them about 2 weeks to write a piece on it from when the accounts were released?

Not sure if this has been posted yet.
The Wasps application to redevelop the Henley in Arden facility is now live on the Stratford Council site.
Stratford-on-Avon District Council: Eplanning
Looking at the comments so far, most, as you'd expect, are very anti. The one I found from a quick browse that is pro the application is by an 'Ian' of Caterham, who thinks the development will benefit the locals....

The community plan given by Wasps in the application is laughable. Couple of open training sessions a year and thousands of free tickets!

The bigger income generator out of action completely, their Bond payment due next month, is this the day of reckoning? Choosing to do it now also would help the egos of the likes of Eastwood who can point (to a certain extent fairly) at Covid rather than anything else.
