I think to be fair they do okay on match day entertaining which will be lost, but given loss of almost all their revenues and presumably all ACL revenue they are clearly in a pickle. Rugby does not have the resources of EFL PFA and Prem lge to fall back on for help just look at cutting of funding to Cov rugby by RFU recently as an example.
Let’s see how their friends at CCC respond

Wasps should not worry...

Coventry public-
“Dear Coventry City Council could we have money to help support the people of Coventry from Corona virus by supplying the needy with basic essentials along with the elderly?”

Coventry Council “No! We haven’t got the finances available.”

5 minutes later...

Wasps chief executive-
“Dear Coventry City council could we borrow money to pay players wages and keep the club afloat with 0% terms over 5 years?”

CCC- “Of course, we have provisions set up to support you my friend... how much do you need and while we’re at it lets talk about next years free season tickets.”

Imagine if Joy is sat there picking up all of these bonds.

a possibility, as is Derek Richardson and his associates doing the same thing. I would think he must own some. At a price of 40p in the £ you get the whole lot for £14m. It could relieve some of the finance pressure, may be ease the refinancing too if he owned/controlled nearly the whole lot at a 60% discount. The interest largely paid to the owner who could reinvest it in the club which would be cash flow neutral for wasps. Come 2022 he would control the refinancing. Just a thought

Always had this Idea since they somehow messed up that cash injection 18+24 months ago

The first ripple and way too naive to be making .

Assuming the funds are there of course.

I’s that trades for wasps bonds????? I thought as the price was so low and on no one has bought or sold any since they went down to £40. Surely Richardson and his associates would be snapping them up? This is why I had made the assumption that they think it’s going tits up?

Have they announced that the Killers will be off in the summer yet?
Europe dates run 26 May - 18 July so almost certainly off. Starts in the UK but some European countries have already banned large gatherings into June.

They then start a US tour on 18 August so doesn't look promising for rescheduling.

They are cultists. No matter what the news their first inclination is to form ranks and completely deny whatever they hear. Delusional. Once they go bust and we’re back in the Championship I hope any c**t turning up to our games in their merchandise is hounded straight out.

Still nothing in the Telegraph but they have managed to publish this
Wasps staff ordered to take three months leave but no jobs cut
Sure its a shock to us all that Wasps are at the front of the queue for a taxpayer handout.
Right- I'm no accountant, but are they being sneaky here??
Lots of revenue will already be there for the season- season ticket sales, sponsorship, packages etc.
If they resume, they will STILL get matchday revenue too...
Are they right in claiming 3 months support if they are likely to get the cash anyway if season continues?
May not be explained well but are they claiming "extra" which they are likely to get later in season anyway!????
PLUS- players taking 25% cut too...

Season is likely to be cancelled altogether I’d think.
