That is the option I always tick. Works for me.
We should all ask for free tickets. Wastes a bit of their admin time and then we just chuck the tickets in the bin when they arrive.
Don't think it is their admin time, it will be the people who are giving them out for them. Schools and sports clubs etc.
Was thinking in terms of approaching the club direct to ask for them, not ones already being handed out anyway.
Ah, would they do that do you reckon? It would certainly take the piss out of the people paying.
No they wouldn’t
Was just thinking if you said you represented a local club of some sort, such as my daughter's drama club for instance.
The only thing with that is that it brings your daughter and her group into it. Same as if I was to get them through mine and just bin them. They will then ask her what she thought of the game...
Say it was something you could get used to with more free tickets
I did say 'such as'.
Just say there's a group of overweight blokes who piss into each others pints, wank onto biscuits every week and love a kangaroo court and they will be all over it.
Now a Brexit question (gulp).
With the general consensus being that we will initially be worse off if and when we leave, just wondering how any exit from Europe would affect the likes of Wasps etc. (Please no political debate here)
Obviously going to impinge upon so many people and businesses at first and with the fact that some of Wasps ticket prices are quite ridiculously high, I wonder if they will suffer more, or is that just wishful thinking?
Out of curiosity - how many turned up at The Ricoh yesterday? (I was at Walsall, before anybody thinks I am interested in W*sps in a positive way!)
Sorry just read back through the thread. Some of their big names are buggering off next year (something to do with salary caps - it's all heading south for them - wish they'd take the hint), Stars leaving, crowds down, less success, less income. Vicious circle. Real shame (not)
I'm gutted for them.
I suppose it’s the same question for a lot of sports teams isn’t it? Would be interested to know how it affects hedge funds in general
Yeah, was just thinking of the insects because Wasps prices seem very high at the top end. Surely they will just have to sell cheaper tickets instead, which will hit them in the pocket.
It will make no difference
I would say it wouldn’t effect them because anybody with any sense is getting in for nothing, also in my mind rugger buggers are posher than us so should have more expendable income.
You need to get down the BPA then, we’re like the great unwashed down there!
Might be different with these Johnny come latelys.
When do they have to refinance the bond? Lot of unknowns with Brexit but its not impossible that it could become harder and more expensive to raise the finance.
Speak fer yersen.
I had clean socks on on Saturday.
Just reading about a private equity firm buying into the Premiership so the 13 clubs will get 18m for 33% when that goes through in the next couple of months, if they have any sense they will ring fence that and use it to pay off part of the bonds. This also however means that they've effectively sold away 33% of their future revenues. The PE firm needs to help them increase their revenues by 33% to see them even, probably bought them and many more premiership rugby clubs a bit more time but doesn't bode well in the long term barring interest in club rugby increasing.
More likely that The owner will clear some of the money owed to him like last time they had a windfall
I think there is little doubt if that deal had not gone through Wasps would have been f****d in 2022.
Now I think they will do a short term bridging loan to cover the payback while they refinance with another bond, ad infinitum.
It will pay off about half of the bond amount. It will cause them problems though as it will remove a couple of million quid a year of central income (and income that doesn't cost them much in many respects).
Probably. But that's better for them than folding.
Wasps are close to a sell out for their 'Christmas game'.
Bath must be bringing a big following!
To be honest I remember on my social media last year a fair few I know that don’t attend any sport (most living outside of Cov and back for Xmas) went to the equivalent game, shame.
Free entry if anyone can name a player
Be fucking empty then!
Bill Beaumont does he still play
Out of the European cup with 2 group games still to play.....
Free ticket everywhere then as the glory supporters won’t attend to watch a losing team
Well they’re fortunate they play Leinster last, European champs, majority of the Ireland side and we’ll supporter over here, should get 20k+ with the majority being Leinster
Separate names with a comma.
