What a nightmare but I am not sure if he would have picked anyway. What is it with the england bowling coaches then seem to damage all the quick apart from Broad and Anderson

It’s ridiculous the injury record with England, as bad as Eddie Jones’ England rugby camps!

If it is stress fracture he won’t be back til July time at the earliest I guess, Brookes lay-off was 6 months!

Leaving the England tour due to a stress fracture in his lower back!
FFS how often have we discussed the number of bowlers injured whilst with the England teams!!!
Absolutely ridiculous. England have basically ended the careers of some bowlers.
Needs to be a complete review of how fast bowlers are prepared, trained etc. Something is wrong somewhere. Not just us Australia & SA been devastated by same issue for many years now.

I wonder if it’s the players coming in know how hard it is to break the clique so have to try too hard to even get a sniff.

I see Broad for a hat trick yesterday so that’s his central contract sorted for another twelve months

Seems to me that the bowlers with a more natural action tend to be far less likely to pick up injuries.
Those that are really straining at delivery point pick up most injuries particularly younger bowlers.

I wonder if when they get to england they have lots more data and testing tools so they try to make changes to prove worth and the players break down

Warwicks ‘home’ game against Essex is going to be at Worcester. Who makes these decisions?

Tbf I did read this and go to have a whinge but then realised the groundstaff from edgbaston are taken up with the World Cup, more of a joke that the ecb scheduled Bears fixtures at home over this period!

Shame they couldn’t use an out ground, this is worrying as I see it as testing the water for them getting closer.

I think that’s what they’re saying the out ground would require the WCCC to prepare the wicket and be there for the 4 days, I guess they can’t use Edgbaston nursery ground at the back of the Hollies as that’s used for parking on big match days

So they will be using the Worcester groundsman who they could have just moved to a Birmingham League ground, having a look around on things like Instagram the members are not pleased.

The members still aren't happy about being changed from Warwickshire to Birmingham in the T20, this is not going to help. I don't see why this couldn't have been taken in to account when the fixtures were arranged, not like its something that's been dropped on them at the last minute.

As you say if there's no way they could have played an away game on that round of fixtures why not use the Worcester groundstaff, or anyone else for that matter, and stage the game elsewhere. Ever since they stopped doing it people have been complaining about the lack of games at other grounds, they've got a perfect excuse to stage one and they've blown it.

Probably busy prepping new road and it’ll take a good while to work on a Birmingham league ground, especially to produce a half decent 4 day wicket, temp stands in etc.

It’s a joke it’s at Worcester but they should have played this game away and the fixtures should have been arranged better.

Some real moaning on Facebook about it as well. Nice offer by the bears though to let the members get in free there :emoji_thinking:. A reversing of the fixture was a better bet.

Turns out he could have stayed for world cup but Giles said he didn't want him to.
Not sure that's a wise decision but I'm never convinced by Giles as a boss.

That’s strange, I thought maybe Farbrace was told he wouldn’t be replacing Bayliss so he’s thinking ahead. Biggest summer in English cricket for many decades so he must be gutted to be leaving.

Hope they get a new face in and don’t promote ie Ramprakash or Silverwood to step up.

I hope hope the new man will clear out silverwood and ramprakash as both have taken the team backwards

Not that I care about the the hundred but the Edgbaston based side will have ‘Birmingham’ in the title, I thought great they’ll get rid of the Birmingham Bears and go back to Warwickshire but they’re not!

can't bring myself to follow the 20/20 side for this reason. still think this hundred competition is a stage too far and is going be detrimental to other forms of cricket - nothing more a cynical money grab. cannot for the life of me see what difference 20 less balls will make.

My worry is I can’t see that it could end there why not the 80 or just the 1

They have left themselves woefully short in batsman even with Bell, the bowlers are going to have to do very well to keep them in games.

It's only the 2 Gloucs bowlers in so far?

Still can’t believe they allowed Barker to go! Bet he has a stormer at Hants!

I’ve been following Patel’s season in NZ doesn’t seem to be taking many wickets, could be a long season if he’s off form with the ball and no other spin options.

That’s the squad on tour minus Mellor who’s there as backup keeper-

Missing Bell, Thomason and Stone (injures)
Patel in NZ
Woakes (England)

Not a lot to it!
