I do remember Mark Robins saying that he was not getting any assurances from the club regarding its future. What has changed???

I'm just guessing here but I think the assurances Robins was looking for was with regards to the Ricoh and where would we be playing. He probably had a good idea that Sixfields was a real possibility.

The assurances Mowbray is looking for is more with regards to the football side, will he be allowed to bring his own coaches in, will he be able to put in place a scouting system, will he be able to do any training ground upgrades he feels are necessary etc.

I would hope so prt. There's enough in the press over the years for him to see how this club has been run. He isn't an idiot and has seen how, while it's probably necessary for the club to be "cash flow positive", the reliance on developing the kids as Presley wanted/was told to do, was a very long term plan and isn't going to satisfy the masses and won't get the fans clamoring for tickets. Selling off those kids with potential isn't going to help push us on, so hopefully he's insisting that funds are made available to get a squad together who can challenge.

I'm hoping that he doesn't need the money enough to have the headache of a lost cause, which won't do his reputation any good. If he does sign, it'll surely be with a brighter future ahead.

The best thing would be for TM & club to release a public statement outlining some of the terms.

However I'm expecting everything to be covered by a confidentiality clause of some sort.

I still have a feeling its about him getting out of a contract other than in to the one offered, its just a felling no knowledge, no insider line. I think he maybe covering himself if things don't come his way that have been asked for, no big release clause, not being held if he wants out..I think Sisu are in a hard spot as they would not of dealt with a TM sort of manager before he holds all the cards.. They need him more than he needs them at this point and how can they promise to support him if most fans are waiting to see if he signs,,, what can be guaranteed for certain..

So he has signed a 2 year contract. Well, I am pleased about that though I did not think that he would. I am even more pleased with the way in which he has dealt with our owners. This is no "yes" man. He will have covered all bases with his demands and clearly Sisu have accepted them. We are in for some ride next season my friends!
