It will be interesting to see what position he plays in if they set up like the first team

I wouldn't rule him out of a return to our first team. He was a main stay before injury, took him to adapt but was getting better and our hammering at Rotherham was the first game he missed

Didn’t end up missing him last season. And the consensus on here is we have a better team this season. Can’t see him playing a major role, if anything.

Hard to see where he'll play in the current setup but good to have options nevertheless, if he's good enough that is.

It's going to be a hard season with a huge number of games compressed into a shorter period than usual
It will be a miracle if everyone stays fit

They’ve got to get him into one of them attacking midfield roles surely same as we done with JJ

He wasn't the same kind of wide player though, he's a hug line and cross the ball winger. He has the work rate to maybe fit into RWB once Dabo cements his place at DCM.

Theres no way we can rely on one formation for the whole season. There will come a time Im sure when we will play with two strikers and probably two wingers. He will provide an additional option we currently don't have. In the few games I saw him last season he was useful in the air from diagonals also.

He was a mainstay at a time when we were playing a totally different formation. He was a wide forward in a three, almost operating as a winger. We looked solid using that but at no point did we look like runaway winners. That came after the switch of formation, which we arguably wouldn't have done without his injury so it' very easy to argue we improved after he was injured and out of the team. Hiwula was a mainstay at that time too and became a bit part player after the formation change until such time as he wasn't involved at all.

So if he's to come back in we have to work out whereabouts it would be. People have said as an AM like Jones, but he's a different player to Jones. Jones was a winger who liked to cut inside, Jobello prefers to stay wide and use his crossing abilities. Can that work in a central position? Esp when we have options in the AM position of O'Hare, Shipley, Allen, Hilssner and Bapaga who are all more comfortable playing centrally.

The other option is he becomes a WB to utilise his preference to play wide, but again who will he replace? Dabo? Not a chance. Giles or McCallum? Opposite side to where he usually plays. Also unclear how well he would do the defensive aspects of the position compared to more naturally defensive players.

As you say I wouldn't rule him out at all, but to get back in he's going to have to show a great deal of versatility and ability to play in a position that isn't his preferred one.

Im not sure that’s true about playing style. The clips posted earlier show him often cutting in, playing both sides of a three.

Yep agree he loves to hug that touch line unfortunately for him we don’t use wingers anymore hopefully he can do well in a new position sure he’s played in similar positions at former clubs

Marcel will be closest. He’s done a couple of 90mins games now. Has to fight now to get into the match day squad. But hopefully not too far away.

Fight? We had to put Kastaneer on the bench Saturday who I don’t think would have been used under any circumstance

For anyone who watched the game today, how did Jobello play after coming on?

One very heavy touch. Changed the shape...stayed out very wide. Injected a bit of pace on the right. A good option to bring on.

Good to see him back. If we play with a right sided midfielder he’s really the only one suited to that role.

Agreed a natural wide player his crossing looked excellent before his injury

The only other options are Kasta and Hilsner and MR has said he’s looking to loan Hilsner out. Just hope we don’t expect too much from Jobello. It’ll take him time to get back to fitness and form.

If he gets back to fitness, he'll intimidate a few opponents. Really hope Fankaty was just fatigued, and that he's not still playing with an injury - has so much ability, it would be criminal to do long(er) term damage for short term gain.

I agree, Dabo is vital to us. If he needs a rest then let him have one. Can’t afford to lose him again.

What I like about him he knows how to hog the line makes it very difficult for defenders to pick up and creates space, unlucky with a heavy touch when he first came on.

Asking a lot for him to keep getting up and down that line, game after game. What a player though.

Rusty af but great to have him back. Will definitely prove to be an outlet. You just know what you're getting from him, hugs the touchline head down kick chase and cross. No Maradona but will definitely be useful.

Aye, he's only played 11 times for us and I think he's run the ball out of play like he did with his first touch today in half of them. Maybe unfair to write him off but don't think he'll be a regular for us

That’s why we have to manage his recovery from injury well. What a player.

The fact that we tried to find Jobello at every single moment we had the ball I think proves the players trust him. Exciting to have him back
