They'd be much better served staying and play first team football - Newcastle haven't particular got a good track record of producing players, I can only think of Carroll, taylor and ameobi who have come through in the last 10 years to have significant first team role for them. Obviously money talks and if there's a half decent offer on the table, they'll be off.

Very true LBB, any transfer fee received will go to funding our loses and maybe funding transfer/signing on fees. It won't be there for wages.

1 million for Keogh, 800k for Bigi, 500k for Willis, 100k for McPake.

If they cant reduce the rent, then there is 1 million left over after that is paid off.

9 players wages freed up. Most of which are Championship wages.

Surely from that and 1 million we can offer 7-9 players free transfers, League one wages and we will still be saving money.

I think it is totally reasonable and realistic.

All in all, this leads me to make two conclusions:

1. The ludicrous odds from a variety of bookies on our chances of success (11/1 5th favorites to win the league (corals), 4/1 for promotion (betfred))
2. AT's naivety to go public with his '...I have a BANG BANG list...'.

It ain't happening Teflon, and if you said it just to appease the fans/boost season ticket sales, then you are no better than SISU and their lies, and if you believed it, then you are more gullible than I imagined.

From what I have seen of him I don't think he would intentionally lie to the fans to get them to buy season tickets.

I used to, DTD, but after watching that last season/the vast majority of matches under AT's tenure, and reading/hearing his mind-numbingly mundane comments after each game, I have lost my balanced view of the man's ability...even with the obvious mitigating circumstances.

Just my view....I think we are going nowhere under his leadership...regardless of any signings he is allowed to make, as I have seen nothing/very little in 58 games which suggests to me that he has the tactical/motivational nous to take the playing side forward.

I can see where you're coming from.

However post match comments - do you remember CC - "we bossed the second half (having been played off the pitch at Derby), MA - "if people criticise Micky Adams then Micky Adams will walk" (I'm paraphrasing here), ID - "the boys put in a shift today". I struggle to remember any post match comments that rose above drivel!

As for football style etc, I think he made a great start. I loved the football we played at the end of the season before last. I was at the Norwich game (last match of season) with Norwich fans, who before the game were telling me we'd be beaten 6-0 and after the game were telling me we'd be promoted next year (that worked out well......). Then we had the sell off and in particular the loss of King.

Did he make mistakes last season? Yes, plenty.

Have we ever had a manager that didn't? Not since I started watching just after JH left.

Is there any prospect of SISU funding an established manager to replace him? Not that I can see.

Reduced attendances, I maybe wrong but it seems to me that it is just the hardcore loyal fans left, who will come whatever the situation and this was the case last season.
Unfortunately I think SISU are aware of this and also think this will be the case in league 2. Where they will be able to reduce wages further and most the fans who went last season, will go this season, will again go next season even if it is league 2.

This boy Willis is a testement to tenacity and great work from our academy ,he was rejected by two or three local rivals youth set ups and has come back strong through personal refusal to take failure,ultimately rewarded with captaining England U18s.the question for us is would you rather lose two or three young ones and keep Keogh /Cranie
