You can never earmark a sell on clause for a player that in theory might never be sold... no matter how probable that it appears to be. That would just be foolish and reckless way to run the club...

Far too late in life, I learned - what in retrospect was pretty obvious - how much easier it is to make money when you're involved in something where there are big numbers flying around.

If the main transaction is, say, £50m a fee of "just £100k or so seems almost trivial.

This principle seems to be on steroids where agents' fees in transfers are concerned.

The chances are that whoever buys Gykores will pay the fee in instalments. I assume that our sell-on fee will be paid in the same way, so we will get 10% of each stage payment.

That answers my question on the Vik situation

Any additional income for any business is a positive. No matter of the money from Vik we still and would of had to wheel and deal in the market. Nothing changes we will seek gems, plenty of them about.
