How's that bloke from RM taking things?Gyo nominated for Balon d’or.
First ex Cov to do so (I think).
Strachan finished 4th (I know!) in voting but in 1983 before Cov.

I knew he’d start slow so didnt put him in my team yet, but Bowen and Joao Pedro didnt muster much better!Put himself about but lost the ball twice with heavy touches. Subbed after an hour. Glad I made him captain in my fantasy team
Another step up and he needs time to adjust.
They don't, he isn't the main man. He played in teams that played the ball up to him quickly, Arsenal don't do that very much.7 goals in 21 games (all comps)
1 goal in the last 8 games, (which was a pen)
not the flying start i assumed he would get at arsenal, i guess arteta isnt using him the same way sporting/cov did?
he is there main man, as in a CF, but it seems to be say, get the ball to saka, let him cut in, and try an curl one in..They don't, he isn't the main man. He played in teams that played the ball up to him quickly, Arsenal don't do that very much.
I think there is a lot of goodwill towards him due to the transformative impact he had both while playing here and subsequentlyWho gives a fuck at this point?

Same applies to an extent with Hamer, who I also continue to like, but I don’t care that either one is struggling with their current team.I think there is a lot of goodwill towards him due to the transformative impact he had both while playing here and subsequently
It’s an insult to Gyokeres to even compare him to Wright. Night and day.Yeah we love a striker who scores loads while we’re doing really well.
Now to take a big swig of tea and open the Haji Wright thread…
They have similar traits. Neither of them are classic target men in the sense of winning flick ons and holding the ball up.It’s an insult to Gyokeres to even compare him to Wright. Night and day.
If we got promoted, would we go for him?(assuming he’s still struggling)They have similar traits. Neither of them are classic target men in the sense of winning flick ons and holding the ball up.
Both seem happiest when cutting in from the channel with the ball and committing defenders.
Vik is stronger and seems more competitive in nature for sure.
On loan could see itIf we got promoted, would we go for him?(assuming he’s still struggling)
Keep this form up and we might get him back on loan next season

Arsenal haven't played with a proper striker in the team for a while so they are both getting used to each otherHe played well last night, just because he hasn’t scored doesn’t negate the impact he is having on their so far successful season. He is part of it.
Not a snowflakes chance in hell.If we got promoted, would we go for him?(assuming he’s still struggling)
I still maintain Arsenal was the wrong team for him. Their styles dont match. He would have done better at someone like chelseaVik played his cards brilliantly… tearing up Championship then move to a lesser Portuguese league then a big move to premier league. Even his agent said when he moved to Portugal there were better offers he just played the long game. He is 27 soon unfortunately I fear one step too far but a good game of poker with his team and suitors! Didn’t cut it with Brighton and they are pretty good at talent evaluation, won’t cut it with Arsenal, Cov or whoever in PL. …
Lesson here is that PL is so tough, so fast, so powerful and unforgiving if we go up any sentiment to players past or present is very naive.
Not a snowflakes chance in hell.
This has to be the most bizarre suggestion ever posted on this forum, but no doubt it will get the Bamford cucks gushing!
Over reaction???Bit of an over reactionI never said it’s likely. My angle was more, he’s struggling and there’s already suggestions he’s not at the level they want. In 6 months time if they want him out and we’re in the Premier league, would he consider it. Probably not as his stock is high and would go to a team in European comps etc but imagine it tho
What ever that means it seems likely that Frank was right and it was quite prophetic at the time, maybe he knows what was/is/unfolding?Not a snowflakes chance in hell.
