Maybe you opened this thread and, as I did, saw the first posts and thought he'd been injured. Realised after looking at the date that this was an old post from last year... Quite a relief after the performance today!

Best midfield 3 in the league?
Torp - Grimes - Rudoni

At the moment yeah. Sheaf is too much like Grimes but not quite as good.

Look more fluid with Torp in the team.

I love Torp, real technician with the ball - was a beautiful first time volleyed pass into BTA at one stage which was classy.

It’s a shame he had a stuttering start under Robins because it was always clear there was something there. Looks like he’s bulked up this season

We’ll see. Hopefully he can replicate the sort of display we saw yesterday for a sustained period.

Of all the concerns I’ve shared about Torp, that hopefully he can regularly put behind him, the worst thing about him is his horrendous chant.

He looked much fitter and more mobile yesterday, played at a good intensity

Both his goals were excellent, I had great angle on them.

The first one had a curl right into the corner though I see on the replay the goalie just got a hand to it.

I attracted some derision last time I suggested he might get a call up to the Denmark squad but would you bet against it now?

Think I’m in love with him. Would give him the sloppy saddlebrain special if he asked.

It came second in skys goal of the day comp with 20% but never caught the winner but I think was just power that got it the vote.

Similar to Rudoni he's coming on leaps and bounds under this coaching regime. Speaks volumesc

You could see he was a good footballer when he 1st came. But what he has now is he looks physically better, stronger and fitter. That with his ability makes he a really good midfielder and very dangerous with the ball when given space.

The coaching staff have done an unbelievable job on him and others within the squad

The cucking for Sheaf over this guy gets more embarrasing by the day.

If he isn't one of the first names on the team sheet then you need to have a word with yourself.

I’m pleased he’s showing his quality which he always seemed to have but it fits and starts.

The only remaining question with him is durability, hope his injuries are behind him.

The injuries weren't connected so I don't think there's anything to worry about there. Anyone can have a run of different knocks just like it's possible to throw a double six twice in a row.

They were, for a long time. As recently as the first game of the season. It's only recently changed amongst many when Lampard picked Torp first game.

It was absolutely the right choice as well.

He ain't nowhere near the starting 11 when everyone's fit. No way do we drop Torp for sideways backwards Sheaf.

If/When Sheaf does get a start, the difference will be stark, this place will have its predictable meltdown again about the slow and laboureous tempo of our midfield.

Sheaf looked good as a midfield anchor for Hamer and O'hare, but we've moved on from those days now, and as someone mentioned above, Grimes is far better at the base of our midfield.

Just imagine if he was a Brazilian we had just splashed £15million on, we'd all by screaming what an absolute bargain, announce promotion now etc etc.

Also,
To be totally fair to BTA, ive not been his biggest fan, but fair fucks to the guy, credit where its due, we've not missed Sakamoto at all, and he deserves to hang onto the shirt for the foreseable.
Well played Brandon.

I was thinking the same. If he continues this form he surely must be in contention for an international call up.

He's absolute class Torp, no chance he gets dropped now, his range of passing is top notch I mean that pass out to BTA against Derby was ridiculous! Our midfield trio of Grimes/Torp/Rudoni is disgusting.

Torps second goal still was a thing of beauty

I pointed out elsewhere that he was in a lot of 121 communication with Frank particularly in the first half. Lots of hand signals which I could not make head nor tail of. Looked like quite an intense working relationship being conducted under the public gaze.

I thought he was looking good last season. He is a beautiful striker of the ball and got a good football brain. I love his reverse tackles to rob the opponent of the ball

I think I'm in love...
