Anybody know what the damage is? Losing another midfielder for the season could be really significant.

Too early for a proper assessment I would think it will need a day or two to settle.

Always backed him and said of the quality he has, but he was fantastic today.

Looks to have trimmed down slightly and up to the pace of the league, covered every blade of grass, won countless battles, and 2 moments of quality (should have been 3) to get us the result.

I thought Grimes really struggled today as did Rudoni and Torp carried that midfield on his back against the mighty Ebou Adams people wanted us to sign.

Yep! Absolutely superb today. There was a swazz in the second half he hit first time in the air out to BTA that was ridiculous technique

He has unquestionably improved greatly since Lampard has been manager.
Looks quicker, fitter, and puts himself about too.

When he’s on the ball he has undoubted quality but he was out of the game for long periods today. If you want the ball to fall to anyone in and around the area it’s him. I’d just like to see him involved more.

Sounds like good signs then, missed the game today. If our perceived two best midfielders had poor games but we still have quality to win that's a real positive.

He strikes the ball so clean and hits the target a high percentage of the time. Very tidy player and i expect him 6 or 7 goals this season if he stays fit.

Looks physically the best since being at the club

He was unlucky in the 1st half with his left foot shot that went in after a foul given on Rudoni. Excellent technique even with his 'weaker' foot.

A brilliant pick up from Austins team for what, £2 million-ish? You have to give credit where it's due.

Makes you realise that Sheaf slows our game down. His goal was superb.

I've said it before, Torp should be way ahead of Sheaf.
With Sheaf we play negative sideways and backwards football, we are too slow and laboured when hes dictating things.
And Torp offers a goal threat, whereas Sheaf's shooting is woeful.

He’s a great player. Still maintain that the best individual performance from a Cov player last season was him vs Sunderland. He was a big miss for the play-offs.

Maybe you opened this thread and, as I did, saw the first posts and thought he'd been injured. Realised after looking at the date that this was an old post from last year... Quite a relief after the performance today!

Been a big fan of torp for a good while you can see his class with his first touch and the way he shoots. Took him a bit to find the pace of the league but lots of positives.

Technically he was always a class above but his fitness and physicality were always the issue.

He has hopeful nailed that now. As he can be one of the best midfielders in the Championship.

I love technically brilliant players so I hope it’s a stand out season. He isn’t a Hamer replacement though so shouldn’t be compared.

I have always questioned his pace. But at least today in 2nd half when Derby were on the counter attack, he chased back from the edge of the penalty area into our half and won the ball back.

This time last year he couldn't do that even if he was willing. His over all fitness levels have really improved since the start of last season

I still think he needs to work on finding pockets of space so we can get him on the ball more and more involved consistently.

Today though his best 90 for us.

Torp is a very technical player and had a great game today. He is a different player to Sheaf so comparing them is like apples and oranges in a way.

With Torp in the team he does get us forward really well and he is a great weapon for set pieces and long range shots. He also plays those through the lines balls extremely effectively
