As far as stating the nuclear forces are now on alert , they always are so Putin is telling us nothing we already know.
I'm hoping that ultimately it's not his decision whether to launch nuclear missiles . He may be leader of Russia, but surely the Russians have in place a mechanism to thwart a madman who's in command.
I hope to hell the Western powers send massive military hardware to the other countries at risk right now in preparation to Ukraine eventually being overpowered. I see no alternative . It's right that we do not go into Ukraine and risk a huge European war but beyond that if Putin wishes to inflict this hell on another country I'm afraid we must act.
If that's true then there's got to be a chance someone will try to overthrow him and / or stick a bullet in his head.

So he's offering what for the removal of sanctions?I think if he takes Ukraine the military and financial cost will be severe and the negotiation will be the removal of sanctions to relieve the Russian economy

Fair enough. It literally is on my doorstep. I'm a 2 hour tank ride from the border in one of the countries Putin has stated ( increasingly frequently) needs to be removed from NATO and returned to the Russian "sphere of influence".Oddly enough I don’t know but my principal point is we only care as it’s on our doorstep and if it was say Africa no one would care about the country being destroyed so as we care we need to ensure we do not threaten ourselves
