Oh right does it say in that article they were deliberately targeting civilians then?

Anyone found to have committed a war crime should be tried and punished accordingly.

But if you think that incident is remotely comparable to Russia (or Israel) deliberately shelling civilians then there's something wrong with you.

Do you think Ukraine intentionally targeted it's own citizens with cluster bombs?

I didn't say you did. I am asking you a question.

And Amnesty have been criticised throughout, starting with their refusal to condemn Putin’s invasion in the first place.

As I said, anyone who commits a war crime should be tried and punished accordingly.

Once again you seem far keener to point out alleged Ukrainian war crimes than concrete Russian war crimes.

I have never defended any of those things.

Having a bunch of homophobes, transphobes and racists doesn't mean the country deserves to be wiped off the map.

You disagree. That's up to you.

Some updates from Ukraine, including huge losses for Russia at Adiivka which @Grendel laughed off the other day (when will you learn that Open Source accounts are way ahead of mainstream news outlets?)

In other developments Ukraine have made a breakthrough across the Dnipro and Russia receive arms from North Korea.

While the world's eyes are elsewhere, there are significant developments in the Ukraine war

Despite global attention on the Middle East, Russia launches attacks in Avdiivka with North Korean aid, while Ukraine deploys US-supplied missiles and initiates strategic moves in Kherson Oblast, intensifying pressure on Russian forces across fronts.

I seriously doubt those losses are accurate, I am sure the numbers are both significant and we will also never know the real numbers.

This guy is quite good, short punchy and pretty solid. Obviously English, lives in the Far East and I feel I should be able to track his accent down:

Have to take those numbers with a fair pinch of salt of course, but if they're even remotely close it's pretty astonishing numbers.

Come on Tony, the source of the story is the US. As you know from the other thread, they are the worst of bad faith actors.

Oh come on Fernando, it’s hardly breaking news is it. This has been a recurring story for a good while now. There was even footage released earlier in the year. It does go to show that Putin isn’t someone you can negotiate though. Although if you’re relying on this to come to that conclusion then you really haven’t been paying attention.

‘Tiredness on all sides’ over war in Ukraine, Italian PM tells prank caller

Giorgia Meloni ‘misled’ into phone conversation reportedly with Russian comedian posing as African political leader

We should feel honoured that our experts on here had more insights into how the counteroffensive went.

Yeah, to be fair to others who’ve commented they may have not built into their thinking that Russia have a neverending supply of expendable solders Putins willing to throw at this. Hundreds a day dying. What’s the alternative for Ukraine though ? He needs Russian families to rise up against the slaughter of their kids, husbands, friends etc but it ain’t happening.

Ultimately it’s a war that neither side will win under the current circumstances but I doubt Russia’s expendable troops and resolve will end before the West’s financial backing.

“Resolve”

lol. Have you seen anything coming out of the Russian side of this war? Its not the Russians with resolve.

Really don’t get why someone would be cheering Russia on, other than deep seated psychological issues meaning they have to be contrary to everything because they don’t think their opinions are valid otherwise. But i dont think that’s Sick Boy.

There is no doubt in my mind that it will end in some kind of negotiated settlement but that can only happen when Russia are in the shit otherwise its likely to be repeated elsewhere.

As I say we need the Russian people to say enoughs enough. Easy for me to say in the comfort of my own home
