No matter of personal opinion any news is good news for every fan and keeps the situation highlighted. We all want the club back in Coventry and that is the most important thing, so instead of taking the piss or being judge and jury, let him have his minute and see where it takes us, as we surely all want the same..

It's all good saying that Chipfat but surely this offer - if it can even be considered as one - should have been made to the Club instead of ACL?

Yes Robbo, I agree with all of that.

I'd question while he claims to be a big fan of the City, which is probably right, he's failed to keep up with the off-field politics. He does not recognise that ACL profiting in any shape or form does not suit SISUs plans. Even if he somehow managed to get £3M to pay the rent for a number of years, it would help keep ACL in business - not what SISU want.

Martin Kelman does obviously not read this forum.

ACL have profited from our Club for to long, but you are correct I am sure Sisu don't want this trend to continue.

I could no care less who he spoke too, who he made an offer too, bad news, good news is news and that keeps this issue in the press.. All we want is our club back in Coventry no matter of who we believe is right in this current situation. I may think the same as you about this guy, but its not for me to judge or ridicule, more info needed but fair play to him, even if it self promotion... It all serves a purpose....

It clearly is spin - infact if les Reid had published it then we would dismiss out if hand.

Keeping our plight is the news is one thing, but self-promoting on the back of it is another. If he's got any sense he will not mention GH and JE anytime soon.

Oh for christ sake Grendel, gunning for Simon Gilbert now? Does he not have a responsibility to his employers to follow and write stories about CCFC, no matter how fact or fiction they appear to be, just like when Labovitch got a piece in the paper about 24 meetings with 24 people (or whatever it was). Les Reid became an ego maniac and to wrapped up in himself.

Really? because I choose to question what you said and it doesn't follow your way of thinking. Seems to be getting common this 'struck a nerve' line just because people have a different view.

The fact of the matter is Rob that he doesn't need to raise £3m to highlight how little financial sense playing at Northampton makes to the club. An extra 10,000 on the gate paying £15-20 a game raises at least an extra £3.5m in ticketing revenue alone yet our owners think it's better to deprive themselves of this income for the purpose of attempting to bankrupt ACL.

There is no way anybody can rationalise it through anything else other than a personal feud and oneupmanship.

And the revenue from a few cups of tea and burgers that Tim said is vital to the clubs long term future ?

I'm trying to think of an angle to get published in the newspaper with some nonsense just for some publicity. Seems this guy could be of some use and help to me.

Actually, I like him. Some fans thinks its easy enough to get SISU out and just give it to someone else, so here's what we do. You lot distract the security guard and I'll run, in grab the physical golden share and we'll give it to this chap as our new saviour and the cycle will definitely not repeat in 10 years when we're in the Prem in our own ground in Coventry playing our cloned Maradona and Pele and winning the Gazprom World Euro Continental Super League.

We can buy the access to that from ACL and Compass.

How much profit have ACL made from the club again Rob? If there's one thing that gets really boring its the old 'club as a cash cow' argument...

The ACL accounts are out there, and public, so where's this huge profit?

Why would they have to make a huge profit to use the club as a cash cow? A typically distorted analogy.

The club paid the mortgage and allowed the ACL project to grow to its present mediocre heights. Its a project sisu should have strangled at birth by going on strike on day one.

Where would ACL have been then without the clubs bloated contribution?

Why should the tax payer have to pay for the Ricoh?

What would have happened to our club if CCC never got the arena built?

Doesn't really matter though when you have someone that has CCC to blame for everything when he hates CCC and everyone employed by them.

It seems extremely unlikely at present - whilst SISU still think they can steal the ground. You'd imagine only someone astute would have the money that SISU would demand to enable them to make a profit. And nobody astute would pay that amount.

Back to the thread I'm willing to listen to what Mr Kelman has to say.
I wouldn't have a problem with making a contribution.

Key points in article -

" We want to work with Sisu, but they can't be at the front door anymore"

"What we don't want is Sisu's debts, they have created them"

"We don't want to do something hostile unless we have to"

What is the ACL project and why was it set up? As I understand it, CCFC ran out of money and CCC and Higgs stepped in to save the CCFC project. That they want their money back sometime is not really surprising.

Please enlighten me. How much have they actually put in? Why do other councils view their clubs as an asset and do not seek to "get their money back" - not that there is any money to get back.

Remind me - what did the council say regarding the valuation of ACL?

Why do you have to constantly pretend you are thick?

So you think that SISU are right to go for the JR. All because of the loan being paid with government funded money. Agreed so far?

So why would it be good for SISU to get the arena unencumbered which would cost many millions to do that would come from government funded money with no chance of getting the money back?

How about you pretending that the council valuation of ACL was zero again?

What is the difference between the council propping up one private company (ACL) and them propping up another (CCFC)?
