Huckerby to come on and make it 3-2…what a day that was 😃
Realistically Utd should breeze this but City put on their best performances when not expected to. We need to have those players available that played yesterday, especially Sheaf, he is the anchor.

If Man U play anywhere above average they will win.

But that's not a given. They concede a lot of chances and look suspect defensively even without the injuries. Onana can be liable to a brain fart. But they do have strong players attackingwise if they turn it on.

If we can keep our discipline, close them down and not concede (or even better score) I think some of their players heads could drop.

I predict a game with a lot of chances, probably a fair few goals.

And I never thought I'd say this but I genuinely think we've got a decent chance if we play well.

As one of the senior posters on here (approaching 71), I remember watching United at Highfield Rd many times during our 34 years in the top flight. Players like Best, Charlton, Crerand, Law, Stiles and our soon to be manager, Noel Cantwell. Now THEY were super stars! And yet even back in those days, we were never put off by the thought of playing the 'mighty Man Utd'. And we still ain't!
Bring it on!

Man U massive favourites. Every player on their bench would probably walk into our team. We have a very heavy fixture programme without a squad to rotate. Also, Palmer, Saka and Allen will not be available. Got to hope they underestimate us and a few have an off day. That said, thought Leeds and Wolves would stuff us.

Where is Allen, I thought he would be available by now

If we score a meaningful goal then I will go absolutely ballistic.
I've said this to a few people. If we score, I want it to be to take the lead or equalise, even pulling it back to 1-2 will come with some hope. If we score a 93rd minute consolation in a 4-1 loss it'll be shit.

Heart - we could sneak a 2-1 if Man United have a shocker and we defend for our lives

Head - 1-4 loss. I reckon we'll get a goal but players like Bruno will turn up at Wembley

Was Rashford injured yesterday? My eldest son is a United fan… just don’t know what happened? He lived up there for 5 years and worked in the George Best bar in town for most of that time… next thing he’s donning a bucket hat, doing a silly walk and supporting United.

Man Utd followers. Don't call them fans. They will be watching on tele.
They picked the team that wins a lot when they were at school to get over their social hang ups.
They don't come from Manchester and they don't get it.
Sad bunch really.

Rashford’s said he’ll be fine. McTominay might be out for longer though

I think we'll give your back line problems but ultimately, even though this is a poor united side, they're still a top 6 or 7 premiership outfit with players far superior to what we face week in, week out.

I'm just going down to enjoy the day with no expectations.

I can stomach a loss to United or City so glad that even if we lose it won't be to some of the other clubs who are/were around the latter stages.

Liverpool - insufferable
Chelsea- scum
Leicester- insufferable scum
FFS you're a Coventry City fan yet refer to Manchester City as City.

Similar (but to a much lesser degree) to Mansfield who blew their load against Ipswich, and didn't have anything left against us.... i think we will suffer due to the combination of league schedule, and probably not reaching the highs of the Wolves game, and Manchester United having a bit more about them than Wolves.

Can't see anything other than a loss.... although i thought that against Wolves and Leeds.

You mean Maidstone? And there’s a week long gap between brum away and the semi final. Think we’ll be alright regarding match fitness.
Just hope Godden and Allen are fit to buff our bench up a bit.

We haven’t blown our load yet or used up our luck in this competition so may 21/4 is the day we do

But you're a mid table 2nd division side.
According to the bookies the "mid table 2nd division side" have a better chance of beating a 1st Division side than the other 1st division side has of beating the other 1st division side....

Basically, bookies are saying Cov have a better chance of winning (21 place gap) than Chelsea do (6 place gap) ....

stick your divisions up your arse...

3.2 Cov

Simms and Haji for us
Mainoo for you

I dont fear any of your players other than Mainoo or Rashford if he’s on his day, Im hoping Antony starts so Bidwell can clatter him early for everyone

Be somewhat poetic if Mark Robins cost Ten Hag his job after a defeat in an FA Cup game, having saved Sir Alex his job in the same completions all them years ago…
Works the other way too though, could save his job if they pump us heavily 😬
