Looks like a few have already been told they’re free to find another club to make way for the younger players. Bremang, Bartlett, Williams etc.

Ryan Howley is 17 and many a big club were chasing him before he signed pro here.

Harrison Nee seems to score a shed load in the u18s; interesting to see if they can step up

Not really got going at all.

Good to see them use the same setup as the first team but does leave us a bit square pegs in round holes in the back 3 without Drysdale, Thompson, Williams etc.

Penalty won by Nee, fouled by keeper after nice through ball from Howley.

Ngandu scores.
1-1

Does anyone have any thoughts on whether the current crop of U23s could step into the first team.

It's obviously a much harder task than 3-4 years ago due to the improved first team.

Not a great first 20 minutes but been the better time since then. Nee a real threat behind with his pace.

Worth noting we have 4 scholars playing - Nee, Bapaga, McGrath, Howley

All our best play down the left. Newton looks pretty decent.

Yeah he’s having a good game but he looks at risk with his contract expiring and Reid being signed who’s a year younger

Maybe they'll be our first choice and second choice if they both kick on. Newton is only 19 after all. Another year and we'll see if he's up to it or not.

Really good to see the young scholars not looking out of place at all. Howley in particular looking very assured for his first start at this level.
You can certainly see why Nee has been prolific in the U18s too.

Tavares has not stopped running.

Nice assist from Tavares, held off 3 men to poke through for Nee.
