Eccles is a cake - a noun but not a proper noun as only borrowing the place it originated in (I think that's right but one of the better read may be along to correct me :) )
That's correct. Though 'Real Lancashire Eccles Cake' factory, that make the ones that you find in the supermarkets is actually in Manchester, on Hyde Rd very close to the Apollo.

Doug and Frank trying to sort the new moles out at the training ground.

More leaks than a porcupine’s raincoat. Fantastic for all all the new ITK academy graduates though!

Not sure what option I prefer:
A. A load of new ITKs.
B. A load of wannabes who have had their pants pulled down.

Makes me smile when I see fans dismiss rumours because too many clubs are linked with the same player.

It’s inevitable partly because agents want to create markets but more importantly most clubs are buying data on the players in the same leagues, inevitably therefore the same players will stand out to lots of clubs ….

it's a trick, that's clearly Canley Ford

Also, it is possible for him to be in Coventry and his home town of Manchester in the same day :)

Virtually all of our players did well at some time last season. Some dropped off and underperformed at times. Like most managers, Frank wants to upgrade or provide cover/competition.
Toffolo seems strange as we are top heavy at LB/LWB. This idea you can just offload in contract players is naive. Bidders struggled after his injury but may get back to his best. JDS became the player Adi said he was at the end of last season, as both a defender and an attacking force especially at home.
As much as I would like Doyle to sign, Unless we have some funds that have appeared (the £15million?), I feel he will be too expensive for us. I gather he was at Ryton at the beginning of last season but may have dropped in to see his mate Eccles.
Dolan seems to fit the bill. Right wing cover or first choice. Free transfer although development costs may be £1 million.
Do we have to sell? Every player has his price. MVE and Rudi are the jewels in the crown and the only players that would attract top dollar.
We need a squad so can't see Eccles, Lati, BTA or Allen leaving unless we get a very good bid and we buy a replacement first.
Simms would prosper with the right service but has struggled with his back to goal, the way Frank plays. Again, don't think he will leave unless a big offer comes in.
Am I right in thinking we have to have a max 25 man squad plus u21s?

I don’t think any fan dismisses rumours because too many clubs are linked. I think the sensible ones just hold fire on what is clearly rumour and speculation. Also if numerous clubs are genuinely interested, the negotiations will be protracted because he will speak to various clubs on more than one occassion. Even if your club is in a strong position, with the more clubs involved the law of averages dictates that you could miss out.

I would be very surprised if Dolan commits to anyone this early in the transfer window. He has rightly or wrongly been linked to numerous decent Championship Clubs and Celtic and Rangers north of the boarder. Yes players and agents tout themselves, but it can also pay to bide your time. The transfer market is fluid and new opportunities can open up week by week. Dolan is a very good player and will have more than one interested party, why would he rush.

Yes 25 seniors plus unlimited under 21 players if they have trained and played in this country to qualify as home grown.
As I understand it if you take a player on loan, even if they are under 21, they have to be registered with the EFL as one of your 25 senior players. At least 8 of your 25 seniors need to qualify as homegrown.

Yeah! I forgot about cars!!

This was posted to his instagram at pretty much the exact same time everyone was posting that his medical was finished.

I know it could have been recorded earlier in the day/week/month/year and I know you don’t have to BE IN Manchester to SAY you are in Manchester but still…

Just saying it’s not looking likely that he was in Ryton at 7pm.

I don't think it's unrealistic that we'd have explored the possibility of Dolan. Don't think it's unrealistic we could be successful if we really want it. Depends who else is in for him, there will be a few. Would be a good addition but it's not going to make or break our season.

I’d love to have Dolan… great option. That said I’ve seen about 3/4 clubs swear they’ve seen him and complete a medical Bristol, Derby, Celtic, Rangers 😂 his agent is doing overtime

It's blindingly obvious that he started his medical at Ryton and finished it in Manchester, that's how fit he is!!!

I'd expect him to jog back to Ryton overnight and sign tomorrow, why can't everyone else see that?

JDS being an 'attacking force' is slightly OTT

Both Bassette and Raphael were listed with the EFL as U21s at the end of the January transfer window (originally listed in the regular squad last summer), so I don't think the homegrown aspect of it is important in respect to the age classification. The FA guidance just mentions date of birth.

Homegrown is a separate criteria that needs to be met.

Assuming that the criteria doesn't change, other than the DOB being updated, Bassette can still be listed as an U21.

And yes, loanees are counted as senior players whatever their age.

We currently have 24 senior players on our books.
