I don't know, it was awful from both teams and if you're talking about luck then yeah, I don't think we got it. Their goal was bad, Woody was left stranded with 2 against 1 but it wasn't as if a header down was "placed" at their players feet, just fell there perfect for him to volley. Secondly, Woody's header in the first half that hit the post - now, no doubt it was an awful header from a yard out (should be ashamed of yourself Woody!) but to then rebound off the post and hit one of their players... well, put it like this - if that had been at the other end the rebound would have gone in, wouldn't it!

In our position we need to try and make our own luck though - we had the beating od their full-backs quite a lot yesterday and when it was time to put a cross in theere were 2 players in the box at most. We should be steaming forward in that position. Same when Juke was put through and his shot was saved. It went into the missle of their box with no-one within 3 yards of it and no City player within 10 yards. In that position there should be 3-4 players breaking their neck to get in the box. You do that, you may get lucky.

I was in exactly the right angle to see Wood's header that hit the post. How he didn't score I'll never know. It was a terrible effort. No ill luck with that. The way it hit the post it was never going to go in and merely shot across the 6 yard box.

Their goal was a very bad header by Wood.

I didn't see any ill luck yesterday and in fact in some games under a different referee , Gardner would have been sent off for that challenge of his, so maybe we were lucky with that.

Yup, I'll agree with that. I thought he was off, the way the ref went to his pocket straight away suggested that. But he seemed to have second thoughts. What I really hate is when all the players rush in after a challenge like that. Fair play to the bloke it was on, he got straight up, no theatrics. But their players all rushing in really did my head in, they know over-reacting will get a player sent off now.

The luck thing was more where the rebound went and how the ball sat up perfectly for their goal! Sure, the initial plays were terrible (that's why I went on about making your own luck) but if it had been the other way round don't you think it's more likely the ball would have rebounded in to the net off our player?

Nah that tackle was never a red card, it was a late tackle in no way way it dangerous. The Hull players overreacted trying to get our man sent off.

All this moaning about luck is bullshit.

We were poor...Hull were solid, nothing better....it's 2 wins in 22 games this season...that isn't bad luck, it's sheer bad management/training/tactics whatever....this luck thing is a cop-out, and the last thing a desperate manager and players can cling to, to convince themselves that they aren't as shit as the league position proves they are.

Don't think Deegan is particularly happy about not playing judging by his tweets!

Yea just read them, it is a shame as we need everyone we can get at the moment. Not even being on the bench is strange, also puts to bed everyone shouting "Thorn has only kids to work with" to play Thomas and Gael as much as he has is as much a tactical choice as it is forced upon him.
Hope Thorn isn't going to freeze another player out ala Eastwood especially when Thorn is probably the one who scouted Deegan for the club in the first place.

That situation is very odd. He is after all a holding player.

So you mean...he hasn't lost the dressing room, despite rumour-mongers on here in the past? :D

I'd completely forgotten all about Deegan to be honest! Sounds very strange though if he's not injured.

It was like Deegan tried for a cpouple of games, but then turned into a pile of crap after the knock that kept him out. He honestly hasn't done a thing to merit selection in his last 3 appearances. I heard the rumour of his tantrum after he got the hook at half-time; his passing was so atrocious in that game that he's either carrying a knock or just isn't close to the player that I thought he could be. Shame. I was with him when he came out with the "Aron who?!" statements, but Aron's form this season makes Deegan look like a L2 player.

Hope you're reading Deegs, in which case-prove me wrong and show some character instead of acting like a spoilt brat. No matter how good you think you are, you aint done enough to prove it at our club.

Yeah, I agree, there was just nothing about him. It's still strange that he seems to have disappeared though.

Yea I still find it strange he hasn't at least been making the bench though tbh.

I agree, give Eastwood a go! We are paying his wages so why not try him?

I would like him just behind the front 2, he can hold the ball up and bring players into the game from nowhere.

Eastwood fat or not should make the bench

With Freddy, Cody and Ken on the bench...are we sure it can take the strain? It's not our bench remember..we'd have to pay for any repairs :p

Maybe it is time for Thorn to admit he was wrong and call on Eastwood. And admit his formation doesnt work. And admit we cant play a passing game. And admit he hates Ken. And admit our attacking play is crap (he could be there quite sometime adkitting defeat to everything)......

Maybe it's time SISU admitted they don't know how to run a football club and get out?
