Sorry. What’s wrong with what Biden said??

He’s absolutely right. BAME people are more likely to be stacking shelves and unable to isolate. This is blatantly obvious. How does racism come into it? Because he mentioned black women?

Seems very desperate. Also LOL at “Twitter won’t let you see this” on Fucking Twitter.

Ofcourse, but more the same screams hillary... Somebody who fits the mould, who will sell her granny for a vote... Saying what people want to hear all that nonsense...a face that fits.

People didn't want another hillary did they, so they voted for trump.

If Biden loses which I don't think he will, its a further slap in the face for the normal

I think Corbyn beating Johnson, another prime minister from that one school, would have been a bigger slap in the face for the normal.

This part I agree with - she was the epitome of the ‘establishment’
People are fed up with having shit lives, where Trump, Farage and Johnson succeed is convincing them that it’s the fault of those pesky foreigners with their weird languages and Sharia law rather than the c*** politicians that have shafted them for their entire lives.

As per usual, it seems like a viral quote was taken out of context in order to whip up a frenzy

Fox & Friends Ignore Context in Biden's Black Woman Comment

Fox & Friends expressed outrage over comments made three weeks ago by Joe Biden about a "black woman" essential grocery store worker, but ignored crucial context in their "reporting."

I'm not sure how that's relevant.

It is relevant as Russia has always tried in the days of the Iron Curtain to pretend its a super power. In reality it is a broken country with a pathetic GDP for its size. It therefore has always tried to conflate its influence.

In the past it was through recruitment of spies and infiltration of governments through espionage - the reality always was they were behind the game on that and the recruitment was a bunch of rag tag nobodies like Kim Philby. Now its through social media and ridiculous and rather comedic - almost nostalgic - poisoning of enemies of its crippled state. It has to look important as that is all it has. It has zero influence as much now as when it claimed to run the British Trade Union Movement and had a leader of the Labour Party on its payroll.

I recall that in the 80s, USSR was described as 'Upper Volta with rockets'. Having been there at the time, I agreed with that assessment.

It does also have the second largest nuclear weapons arsenal in the world. Also due to it's history it doesn't place it's entire thinking behind GDP and economic indicators. Also despite its size huge swathes of it are practically uninhabitable due to the terrain and climate.

However, what truly makes it dangerous is that it doesn't give a shit. It likes to take contrary positions just to stir the pot and create tension. Doesn't really seem to have a plan or an aim, just wants to create chaos wherever it can (although preferably those with capitalist and/or democratic models).

I'm indifferent to who wins the election because I think they are both shit. It is interesting to watch the election progress from a neutral perspective though.

I watched the full original debate and it was pathetic from both of them really. When it made the cut for BBC they literally edited it to make it highlight all of Trump's shit bits, and all of Biden's best bits. They then had an article 'who won the debate'. Obviously it said Biden and was almost written by the man himself. It's quite embarrassing really.

I don't know who will win, but if Biden loses they only have themselves to blame again. The tactics used and the person they have put forward. Trump should be pretty easy to take down if they just put someone half decent forward who actually has some sanity.

I want this to be true but I'm counting no chickens.

VP debate was probably most important ever as far more likely one will have to take over in the next term than you'd normally expect.

Good thing with that is they can mute them when it's not their turn rather than the constant interruptions last time. Trump can just rant away but no-one will hear it.

You think it is that much?

I would certainly expect Biden to do better than Hillary, and we have also had four years of seeing how mental Trump actually is.

I'm still not convinced it will be an easy win though. They love to play up predictions. Look at the last election here and in the US, and Brexit. They were all astonishingly incorrect.

I don't think Trump will actually do as bad as some people are saying.

The polling data doesn't look good for Trump to say the least but we've been here before will polls.

If Biden wins it will really show how bad Trump is. He's a terrible choice of candidate IMO but Trump makes him look like the only sane option.

Did neither party have anyone available who is likely to survive an entire term in office?

Also see that Trump is saying he wants all Americans to have access to the treatment he had.

Which is why him and his party have spent god knows how long trying to remove the ACA, allowing insurers to put in caveats so they can avoid paying out, allowing employers to not provide health insurance and stopping all attempts at a proper public healthcare system.

What he means is he wants all Americans to have access to the the treatment he had BUT ONLY IF THEY CAN AFFORD IT.

Im just reading what the polls are showing, I’ve not been following but everyone sensible I’ve seen is saying Biden is both way more popular generally than Clinton and winning by a lot more in a lot more states.

Obviously things can change but the debates seem to have really hurt him and COVID will be sparking up again just as the polls open. I can’t see a way back for him.

I dunno, I think there may some more twists & turns yet

2016 and Trump wipes the floor with Biden, its a case of whether 4 yrs down the line has peoples' patience finally run out. Maybe the best thing Trump could do is just keep his mouth shut now.

And that's the problem. People don't always vote sensibly. It's also assuming all those that poll for Biden actually go out and vote when it matters. Apathy is far more dangerous to Biden. You can sy who you intend to vote for as much as you like but if you don't actually then do it it means nothing.

Clinton was a long way ahead in the polls last time and her rallies took on more of a victory lap yet still lost the presidency despite winning the popular vote. A few days before the election FBI released the info about the investigation and that itself may have been enough to swing it. You'd hope that lessons had been learned and that complacency won't be there this time.

Far too long to go for someone to throw something in from left field that might alter perceptions and who gets their vote.

I stand to be proven wrong but I just can’t see it. No insurgent factor. No general fuck competence mood. No weirdly disliked opponent. Economy in the shitter. COVID response disaster. Now being ill. Shitshow debate performances.

The Clinton polls weren’t that far out and never got close to predicting the sort of result they are for Biden. I think a lot of far left and far right types online are very loud about Biden because he’s not Sanders/Trump and because they don’t understand the differences in polling, but in the real world he’s absolutely destroying him.

And yet Biden won more votes. And is popular with voters:Why Biden’s Lead Is Safer Than Clinton’s

This is Starmer and Corbyn all over again. You can say it’s not true all you like but all the evidence points to voters preferring what the base see as “boring” or “meh”.
