Do you mean African-Americans? I don’t think there’s a huge Afro-Caribbean population in the US.

Black voters are typically the demographic group most hostile to Trump (except for college-educated voters), what makes you think that will change?

I think apathy towards Biden will definitely be a problem for him, but I think the hatred/fear of Trump will continue to be a motivating factor, especially among moderate voters, and there is no way for Trump to escape that when he has four different criminal trials dominating the headlines for the next 18 months.

Not sure whether you meant this seriously.

I think democracy in the US would under threat if Trump won again. Even more concerning though is his policies would turbo charge climate change and I would trust him to act responsibly with regard to the development of AI.

I don’t think there’s anything any government can do about AI TBH. Can’t censor computer code or limit access to GPUs.

The climate stuff worries me. The number of troll accounts like James Melville and le Tissier pivoting to anti ULEZ/electric car/net zero stuff suggests there’s an inflection point coming where we need to hold fast.

Yes climate change is already here but it can get very much worse very quickly if we take the wrong decisions which Trump undoubtedly would.

That apathy is exactly what we need to overcome, but of course Trump will do the opposite. Most people if they understood fully would see the urgency for radical action to tackle the issue. Of course there will always be those who don't care less as long as they can do what they want to do.

Almost need to (rather cynically) demonstrate that you can’t be both anti-immigration and anti-environment. One will quite clearly lead to the other. As ever, though, everyone’s too scared to call out these morons on their stance.

Honestly they won’t they live and move in an echo chamber where anyone who has evidence that challenges their opinions is toxic and part of the woke media or is a liar or a fraud or anti American

it’s not apathy I do all I can but I am resigned to the world waiting till beyond the last possible moment as they are blind to it all

I dont think its that people dont give a shit. They just know whatever we do in this country is a drop in the Ocean compared to what China, USA and India produce. For example the whole EU produce less greenhouse gases than 1/3 of China on its own. If the world is going to get serious about it then these countries need to be hit. All your ULEZ rubbish is a tax piggy backed on top of something that looks green so it can wash with the public be under no illusion.

If people could see an actual will to make change in the whole world then the vast majority of people would get on board. Unfortunately atm all we see is a tiny population getting hit disproportionately so they think stuff it.

Cycling is still my go-to mode of transport, My business has good green credentials & we have an electric car.......but it all amounts to fuck all in the big scheme of things.....

Consumerism, plastics manufacture & throw-away culture is still growing exponentially, Tiktok, bitcoin, netflix & pornhub have a larger combined carbon footprint that the EU, and global population is set to hit 10billion by 2050.....

Its all proper fucked.....so I broke my vow & flew sleazyjet.

Even though I don't think it would have taken too much with the likes of this woman, Trump's language is so inflammatory isn't it

In the CBS News/YouGov survey, Trump voters were asked to pick who they feel tells them the truth. Trump gathered 71 percent of the vote, friends and family gathered 63 percent, conservative media figures had 56 percent, and religious leaders gathered 42 percent. The poll was conducted between August 16-18 and interviewed 2,061 U.S. adult residents. The margin of error is plus or minus 3 points for the sample overall.

I don't know what the majority of people actually think, maybe it's just one of those "trendy" opinions to have at the moment, which people talk about in social situations because they have a need to feel liked?

Too many times I've listened to people talk of the sad plight of the planet, how concerning it is, and how we must do something about climate change, and then watched them get in their cars and drive 200m to buy a bottle of milk.

Convenience is king.

You’re never going to get billions of people to act against short term interests. It has to be done on a governmental level. Ban ICE cars, move energy production to renewables, remove gas from heating, encourage sustainable industrial practices. That alone would do wonders. We wasted 40 years on “Hey man, eat less meat and cycle to the shops”
