Happy with this, don't think we would be spending £2 mill on a player from the danish league unless the club were pretty confident on him.

Would like an attacking player that can play anywhere across the front line next

Sarsporg play in the Norwegian league, which is a lower standard than the Danish league IMO (I live in Copenhagen.)

He was previously at FC Midtjylland who at the time, were playing in Champions League and one of the top 2 sides in Denmark, but he couldn't get any game time. He had a few loans, one of which was at Lyngby who are bottom end of the Danish Superliga.

I think signing Torp makes sense, a young midfielder that we can improve. January transfer windows are hard because teams are playing for promotion or relegation battles.Torps league has finished, we will probably see Hamers replacement in the summer when most other leagues are finished.

Much prefer an unknown (hopefully foreign gem) type signing than the same old names cropping up.

Sounds obvious, but expectations will need to be managed amongst the fans; he isn’t Hamer, he’s coming from a weaker league than ours and is one with ability but still lots of potential. He isn’t going to be a match winner from day one.

Also, these last two windows have been exciting times as a Cov fan. We’re buying for a position of relative strength, with money and we’re an attractive proposition to players.

Who would have thought that a few years ago.

The dark days of Andre Wright are way behind us.

Looks like he has a bit of everything about him. Moves well, quick feet and sees a pass. Clips dont show you all but give you an idea of his attributes. Could be a nice addition as he looks like he wants to get the ball forward quick.

Has there been any chat re: Al-Hamadi moving in Jan to other clubs? With the CM signing costing less than we might have thought, assuming he's available for less than £3m, looks like he'd be such a good pick-up. Right age, covers all positions across a front three. Tall as well. MR has shown he'll rotate. You'd hope him, Wright, Simms and Sakamoto would all get enough minutes so keep them happy.

Apologies to the late, great Mark Hollis:

All City need is Torp, Torp
Torp, Torp, Torp, Torp

League 2 standard opposition
All you can do is stand out against your opposition. The other teams analysing you will decide whether that's likely to translate to a better standard or not.

He's away on International Duty most of the month so suspect any activity might be towards the end of Jan.
