Well we’re having to pretty much recruit 3 strikers in this window too. Doyle and McNally were both in strong form, we were never really going to get Doyle back but the latter would have been nice.

Hopefully a permanent CB is in the pipeline this window if that’s our sticking point.

I highly suspect we are looking for another permanent. We appear to be looking at another couple of forward options too

Kitching on a permanent would make me forget McNally.

Of course, and I can see why we turned down the loan. I was a bit puzzled he didn’t join permanently with the multiple hints he and Robins were dropping on that though.

Nothing puzzling. Burnley wanted too much money.

Of course the assumption has been that any deal for Bashir Humphries would be a loan but we know that Chelsea are desperate to thin out their bloated squad and get the wage bill down so maybe a perm deal isn't out of the question?

I'm puzzled by the rush for Bashir Humphreys. Only played 12 professional games.

What about bnc back he would be good off the bench with fresh legs to rub at teams. Robins seems to like freshening up the wing backs during the games

Can’t see Arsenal wanting him to be a sub, nor the player wanting that either.

I think Burnley wanted over £4 million for him - the Ipswich rumour is pretty vague but they have money to spend - certainly don’t see them as relegation fodder this season

Ipswich fans seem to think it will likely be a loan. They have a good coach, but with Chaplin being their main attacking force I can't see them being higher than mid table.

Agree that was probably a bit too steep combined with our other expenditures. Also would expect Ipswich to be top half this season.

Was a thing weeks back, not sure it will happen with MVE now in. Wouldn't surprise me to see Burroughs given the chance to be the back up RWB full time

As he should be, don't see the value of a loan there now really.

I was more referring to rubbing up the RWBs and freshening them up during games.

Hope so, would be a shame if this window meant we pushed out the likes of Burroughs Eccles and Howley completely. Hopefully it just means we can blood them properly.

Now we are allowed extra spaces on the bench. I'd hope that 3 of them would go to youth players such as Burroughs, Howley, Obikwu.

I think we need: GK, CB, RWB, LWB, CM, AM, ST, ST for options. But some of those can be the same player, Palmer for example can play AM and ST, Sakamoto AM/RWB/LWB, Latibeaudiere CB/RWB/CM. So hopefully there’s still plenty of room for a couple of kids.

At the moment we can have a bench of:

Wilson/Collins
Binks?
Burroughs
Da Silva/Bidwell
Kelly
Dragus?
Godden
Obikwu

Think its 9 now so could have Howley there too.

Perhaps controversial but I don’t see the point in having a keeper on the bench.

Yeah it’s 9, that looks decent. I’d still like a better option than Kelly and obviously well see how the starting lineup shapes up.

In the past 20 years how many times have we needed to bring a keeper on?

Bold? What do you do if they’re injured or sent off? Sure it’s a once every couple of years occurrence, but you’re basically writing a game off if it happens.

Are you saying the 50-100 games with an extra sub is worth the one game you need it? I can see that.

You say that - but the only occasion I could
Think of was when Bennett got injured and because we didn’t have a sub goalkeeper we had to put Hughes in goal

Not really the point is it? Many teams have keepers go off injured. Imagine we are beating Leicester then keeper gets injured and we have to put fadz in goal. Ludicrous
