If this deal gets done it's because we really want the player, it's no panic buy. We probably think his stock will only go up and if loaning him back secures a major target then so be it.
It's a shame we haven't got cover in for the wings but we have done ok so far and are pretty adaptable when we need to switch it up.
Let's not forget it's usually us being poached for stars. it's only last Jan we were shitting it that we'd lose Hamer or Vik. This window there haven't really been any scares. We spent 2m+ on an exciting prospect in Torp. Nice to get business done early there.
We Have been linked to a few quality player but couldn't get them over the line. Better to not panic and pay over the odds when the market has a lot more value in the summer.
Loads to be excited about with a potential cup run and no reason why we can't stay in the play off picture. All still with a nice fat wallet ready for the summer.

One good thing I guess is no bids for COH we know about, although maybe the teams he may be interesting are more aware of FFP and also that come summer he’ll be a free agent.
Like I said, not doom and gloom from me just genuinely confused and, yeah, a bit underwhelmed by it really, especially given this time a week or so ago we were talking about (allegedly) rivalling Benfica for a player that would’ve cost almost 10 million.
IF (big if) we did rival Benfica with that bid that a positive sign surely? Didn't come off this time but shows intent to sign players of the right quality rather than just plug gaps.
I wasn't really referring to our rivals with the 'panic' comment. I meant that is being prepared to drop 3m+ on a player and instantly loan him back shows we really want him. It's not just a case of a last minute scramble. Shows to me that there is a proper long term plan.
As for our rivals some of the Hull signings looks decent but it's so risky having that many loans. Could go tits up easily, also feels like they are a bit top heavy. We'll see.

Literally no idea how good this Mason-Clark geezer is but once again I don’t think he was on anyone’s radar. Our recruitment really looks all over the shop tbf to them, let’s hope he’s better than Peterborough (not that they’re awful for a League 1 team).
Still can’t help but have a small feeling of disappointment though, I was hoping we’d be aiming a little bit higher than a Peterborough player, I was hoping for an exotic pick from a European league again, oh well always better to have more options going forward.
