Coventry deals halted by transfer embargo

Coventry aborted plans to offload Marlon King and Clive Platt after being hit with a transfer embargo.
Loans were lined up for King and Platt to Cardiff and Norwich to stave off possible administration.
But City scrapped the deals after being unable to draft in replacements after the Football League ruling.
City refused to deny being under sanctions. The League declined to comment.

In recent weeks, Coventry have sacked manager Aidy Boothroyd and been hit by reports chairman Ray Ranson could quit in frustration over lack of investment by the owners .
