Transfer Deadline Day Thread! (1 Viewer)

Right Lads,
The day is amongst us! One of the most exciting days of the year as a football fan!
I just wanted to make a tread to keep all the info in one place.

Who (realistically) would you love to see us get?

Has anyone heard any whispers?

It looks as if we're going to sign an 'experienced striker' so that's good news.

Really excited for today and the shrewd deals waggot and Elvis have pulled off so far.

Think that's us done now. Very happy with the players we've brought in and filling the right positions. Would be ecstatic if we got any more of the calibre/potential we have so far.

I bet Tesco next to the Ricoh must be gutted with the current situation. No overweight strikers to be spotted in their bakery section today...

I must admit I find 'deadline day' and the coverage one of those sickening symptoms of the commercialisation of the game. It's almost as if the day was made just so Sky could cover it.

I don't see what benefit deadline day has apart from allowing the richest clubs to bully the poorest.

I think this is all positive, although they are loans, I think that is a good move. I've always liked try before you pay. Nice to be talking football for a change, wonder who the 4th one is......

From Twitter Coventry Telegraph ‏@CovTel_CCFC 1m Steven Pressley confirmed to us he doesn't expect any departures - bar possibly Barton on loan #skyblues #pusb

I was going to make an approach to take Barton on Loan....

...I need my lock-up tidying up & I thought he could do the job....but the deal collapsed when he realised I have all my old fishing gear in the lock-up too.....

...Barton is always keen to avoid the tackle.....

HAPPY FRIDAY FOLKS!!

why do teams leave it until the final day to make transfers FFS! Why not yesterday or last week??

I am slightly disappointed that we didnt sign anyone.

I really wish people would stop mentioning Marlon. I hated the fact we'd signed him last time. Only put up with it due to our desperate need for strikers, a need we no longer have thanks to Delfouneso, Donnelly, Slager and when fit, Wilson. Not only has he been total garbage for the past year, but he's also increased his list of convictions. What a classy man :censored:

Anyway, I think the priority if we're getting one more in should be a defender. We leak goals for fun and whilst playing a game of 'can we score 4 since we'll concede 3' is eventful, it's not the best way to go. Disappointed we couldn't get Aaron Martin but I'm sure there are other options.

cyrus dos'nt want a transfer as he will walk at the end of the season, making his signing on fee, ( for whoever) much bigger. if we could get a good offer for him I'd let him go

Why? He's a local lad, puts in 100% and we need that for the rest of this season. As long as we offer him a deal on the same level as his current one, we will get a compensation fee if/when he walks and signs for someone else as a free agent.

If a player is under the age of 24, and the current club offers the player a contract of equal or greater value to his current deal, then the club is entitled to compensation should he decline the deal and sign for someone else.

"
64.3 Subject to the provisions of this Regulation 64, any Club which makes an offer in accordance with Regulation 64.2 of re engagement to a Contract Player who is an Under 24 Player and which is in the opinion of the Board not less favourable than the Player's current contractual terms, shall be entitled to a Compensation Fee in respect of the loss of the Player's registration, should the Player sign for another Club. In order to comply with this Regulation, the annual value of the terms offered must be at least equivalent to the most favourable year's terms in the Player's previous contract. The terms offered to Players for re engagements must be as favourable overall except that a signing on fee included in the previous contract and stated to be a once only payment need not be repeated. Copies of all offers of re engagement made to Contract Players must be sent to the Secretary."

If that happened, everything SISU will all be forgotten :D

I'd shag Joy Seppala if it happened and I don't even know who she is!
