Give over Shmeeeee.

Read the posts-nobody’s jumping on the fact that someone is criticising SISU.

Rather when everyone commenting positively on some good news about a Ryton upgrade some knobheads see it as an opportunity to rubbish good news that doesn’t fit the narrative.

Criticise them for doing a good thing is what we’re supposed to do now yeah? OK.

Fucking sisu are so stupid giving MR a new contract when interest from Sunderland came. They should have seen the taxi was warming up and taken the compo. Sick of it!!!

Or maybe we leave the criticism for discussion of when they do one of their litany of terrible things like continuing needless litigation instead of providing the team with additional facilities?

Burst my bubble/balloon. Generally used to describe party poopers. Or people who like to ruin positives with crap negatives.

It’s an idiom https://writingexplained.org/idiom-dictionary/burst-your-bubble

One post, which had about two pages from about five different people in response. Person A “I don’t like the owners” half the forum “You aren’t a real fan/here’s a section of gifs that show how I feel about you/random insults”. But yeah totally normal proportional reaction.

A few observations.

A few posters have mentioned that the upgrades are being crained in/prefabbed/temporary as a negative.

A lot of permanent house in Scandinavian/German built this way-cheaper but doesn’t affect quality.

Generally referred to as modular https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modular_building

Also the spin that posters can’t see in the telegraph article is definitely there.

It’s clearly a two part article-or ‘shit we can’t have a positive story about owner investment without bolting in some shit at the end’.

The spin is after the end of quoting Robins and how he says that’s brilliant to get (slightly) better facilities.

The CET could have ended the article there but...

The CET goes on to highlight that SISU had applied for planning permission to build houses at Ryton, part of that permission is to find alternative training ground blah blah blah.

SISU have found alternative land but have not revealed where.

CET does this all the time. Even the reports on our success tinged with barbed criticism.

All for the free press but this very obviously biased.

Shmeee.

Isn’t it fantastic that the owners have spent money upgrading the training facilities-especially in light of our successful charge up the table?

Portable stadiums are actually being talked about as possibly the next big thing in stadium builds.

I'd certainly take something like this in Cov over a couple more years in Brum.

I'm shook that people would get jumped on when they come on a Coventry City forum to talk shit about Coventry City. I reckon if you signed up to a sewing forum and said it's all a load of bollocks, machines can do it now you'd probably be a target.

Not to mention pointing out how it won't be a patch on Premier League training grounds, no shit sherlock.

It's amazing how hard people want to try and miss the point. Shmeee will be along banging on about conspiracies, Cloughie will be logging in every few months to try and act outraged about anything slightly positive and the Coventrian will be trying to fight anybody and everybody.

They even added that it wouldn't be a patch on Championship clubs.

I'm not even sure what angle they are trying to spin here but it almost sounds like a strange subtle attempt to hint that we wouldn't be able to compete with other Championship clubs in any shape or form if we are to achieve promotion. Their bias is beyond embarrassing.

Late to the party... prefab?

'prefab' is a dirty word going back to the 1970s when they threw up badly made prefab housing, so now its usually called 'modular', and its the future of construction- I must 'declare an interest' here...

In Croydon you'll find the tallest modular building in the world, its 44 stories high, the Novotel right next to Wembley Stadium is moular (prefab), and they are cropping up everywhere because they are quicker and better quality. There are currently govt grants worth about £5bn to all modular construction companies to encourage use of this technology, it will totally revolutionise how buildings go up.

Anyone slating this because its "prefab" is living in 1973.

Good post. I would if are using sips to build it. I guess some people aren’t up to speed on modern technics. I have even seen it used in grand designs for houses worth a million plus. How much I do distrust sisu. They seem to be pulling in the right direction. I sometimes wonder what my opinion would be if him if they had started out like this. What is interesting is that since joy had taken more of an active role with robins snd brody things have improved. Do you think they were mud guided. I’m still not a fan of them it’s just a question I have been asking myself.

I think its clear that with Mark Robins they see a potential way to recoup something of their funds, so they back him.

I have no love for SISU but that is completely irrelevant from what some posters have been saying.

SISU could give Mark Robins a briefcase with £10m in for players and they'd complain the notes were crumpled.

There are some who will be furious that we are in the automatic spot and that despite everything we are trotting along nicely. It suits their hate agenda with anything to do with the club.
I get the hatred for Sisu, I am in their camp historically on that score, but credit where it is due and some of that has to go to the owners, even if they are hands off by and large.
Let's be honest anything after 16-17 season has been progress and there were some who were predicting non league( not without some justification, granted)
In the words of that great philosopher, Yazz( with artistic license) the "only way was up" and so it has proved. Birmingham, if it is a one season aberration, is survivable and a new changing room at Ryton, whilst not a major development in the scheme of things, is further proof of the manager being supported.

You do realise there are certain posters who monitor this forum and only comment on the sisu/ricoh/wasps threads?
They never appear on any football related thread. That's what the reactions to.
Don't you find it strange that people log into a CCFC message board but have no interest in the team?

There's alot of interest in building schools in a 'modular' fashion, i'd say it makes perfect sense, especially of the long term plan isn't to stay at Ryton.

If im honest i don't see the spin in the article still, having said the plan was to move back in 2018 i'd expect it to be mentioned as the current set of actions don't seem to marry up with that previously stated aim. Whether or not the article is biased though the story behind it is certainly positive.

other than the boost it will give the players which at this time of the year which is a definite plus, it doesn't change much. But whats not to approve about it

It wont have cost that much, changes nothing in terms of club value or owners plans for the site, but the boost it gives the players can only help. Nicely timed, could possibly be paid for out of the interest on McCallums transfer fee. all good
